Not a reaction thread - Washington may very well be fired

Our offensive line, or lack thereof, is, and never has been Cam's fault.

Normally yes but all the Steelers were doing was crashing down on Cam. It's why CMC was absolutely killing them. For whatever reason we stopped running and played into their hands.

I was assured only recently that Chris Clark is doing a fine job and will be sufficient to finish the season.

I believe he has been doing a fine job. You better than anyone know you have to treat games like tonight as an outlier. If it turns into a trend after a few games then sure we can all panick. But Cam’s numbers the last few games have been outstanding. I’m not ready to throw in the towel and pray for Matt Kalil’s return because we got our asses kicked one game. Sucks it was prime time and everyone saw it, but it only counts as one loss just the same.

If I had to guess I’d say the next three games this team will be trying to make up for this one, and we will quietly be 8-4 because this will be on everyone’s mind.

We have a good team here. Offense is damn good and defense, though not without it’s flaws, is serviceable. They continue to get burned by the big play which has been a concern of mine all year but can definitely compete.

Running Rivera's overall defensive philosophy is not the same as doing the defensive playcalling.

Rivera hasn't taken that from Washington b/c he doesn't want to clip his balls, but he can't let this go on.

McDermott wasn't ready when he first got promoted in Philly, but was later on.  May be the same with Washington.

Rivera's defensive philosophy has produced multiple Top 10 and Top 5 defenses... but the play calling makes an incredible amount of difference.

Mike Shula had the same offensive philosophy as Norv, but his playcalling was/is light years worse.

If Ron can tell Norv when to run the ball, you don’t think he can dictate defensive play calling to Washington...?

If you have a defensive minded head coach who sits and watches his defense get ripped apart all game and does nothing is he not the one responsible?

Maybe just maybe he does nothing because it’s actually him and there’s nothing different he would add.

Our defense is decent by current NFL standards. The problem is we are slow, slow safeties, slow DEs, yes, slow LBers. Thomas is just a thumper now. Our only speed on defense is a rookie.

Despite how slow we are, we aren't really physical either. We have ball carriers falling forward on us every play. Not physical, not fast. When you face a great offense we are exposed. We hit a breaking point where we can't defend a good offense at all. We've seen it with the Saints before.

So scheme might be part of it, but honestly I don't think we are as athletic as we used to be on defense. We don't have any athletes peaking. Luke has taken a step back, Kawan a step back, Donte and Bradberry are the only players ascending in my mind.
