Away Game Concerns

We have been a different team on the road this year. 1-2  record and it took an amazing fourth quarter in Philly to avoid 0-3.  To me these are the biggest ? tonight.

Will the team avoid slow starts and mistakes that have plagued us on the road this year?

Can this team, especially offense, carry the momentum of the last 9 quarters and prove that they can win on the road?

if they can’t, then we’re not just in danger of losing this game, but our playoff future/seedjng could be in jeopardy as 5 of the remaining 8 games are on the road.

I saw something like the home team in TNF wins almost 68% of the time. And we haven’t looked great on the road despite the fact I think we beat the Skins if Moore doesn’t fumble at least one of the balls. Hard to pick the panthers in this game. Hopefully we will get out injury free regardless of the outcome.

What you said is why the Steelers opened as 7 point favorites. Honestly, I'm not expecting much from this game. A short week on the road against a really good team is not an easy task at all. Couple that with the way we've been playing on the road and I'm keeping expectations real low for this one.

Agree w/ this. Hope we win, but I just don’t see it happening.

Short flight. Cam hasnt taken any hits lately. Big comeback against Philly. Nice comeback at Washington just fell short. I think we're undefeated at home because we're playing better in general. We're finding our sea legs. Should be a good game...could go either way. Home field is an advantage for Pittsburgh but not one we cant overcome. We dont turn the ball over...we win.

The stats are against us going in to tonight. Both teams are trending in the right direction. Primetime, away, and Shittsburgh are basically three strikes. The difference will be who wants tonight more, and I think we do. But even then it might not be enough. We gotta remember that we're basically two plays away from being undefeated an Shittsburgh tied the fuging browns. It's a statement game, and so was that Sunday Night in 2014 which caused us to spiral out of control, but hell that was at home. That turf is shitty at Heinz Field, the shittiest in the world and all of shittsburgh.

Home teams are 6/2 on Thursday nights this year. The 2 home losers are the Giants and the Cards

Normally I'd say this would be worth monitoring, but the team we saw in Atlanta and Washington is different. Samuel wasn't available for ATL and only played 3 snaps against Washington. Moore has progressed over the past couple of games and we've seen Norv start using different looks.

On top of that the offense found something in that 4th quarter. They've been much more aggressive since and it seems everyone is just falling into a groove right now.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
