The Panthers have reworked Mario Addison's Contract to provide an extra $2 Million in Cap Space. The Panthers now have $4 Million to spend.

Looking over the free agents currently available, I can't see anyone that stands out at the moment. Marshall's out there (I think at this time), but I don't see us bringing him in. 

Odd time in the year to extend someone. 

My only two possibilities are that we're going to either see someone come out of retirement OR (more likely) we may see someone who has been nursing a serious injury go out and a replacement has to be found immediately (or a backup immediately). Right now, the only spot with a vet with a nagging injury and limited back up resources is at center. But that is just pure speculation on my part.

Edit to add: Unless Carolina got wind of someone being released and we're good contenders on the waiver wire. Recent moves in Washington and tanking efforts in Buffalo and Arizona could be part of it...

I'm guessing it might just be a move to open up some cap space in an emergency situation since no one worth signing seems readily available.

Yeah. This doesn't necessarily mean anything is imminent. You have to keep a little space available for "just in case" type events.

It was slightly humorous at first but now it’s just weird and really annoying
