he's only 26, he could start for us for 5-7 years comfortably. draft a FS but no need to worry about Reid's replacement if we extend him

Yeah, I was just talking about the position as whole.  Adams is old.  The Adams route has to change.

Lucked into Reid because he was essentially blackballed.

We didn't luck into Reid, we unlucked into Reid.

Without losing a starting S, he wouldn't be here today.

Problem signing him is paying him what he thinks he is worth. He signed here for a good price because it was here or likely nowhere. Now that we signed him and he is performing, it may make other teams more likely to sign him as well. I doubt we can sign him to a reasonable contract if he thinks he can do better in free agency.  He seems loyal to his cause but not sure about loyalties toward a team.

Lock him up! Lock him up!

im talking about Eric Reid, not Donski of course.

Signing him would hopefully cut some of the fat off the fanbase, as they just can’t stand to watch a militant take the field.

reid is an asset to this team and would solidify one of the safety positions and strengthen our secondary for years to come. It’s a no brainer honestly.

I see what you did there---great play on election day.  Go on...

He has to know that the market it limited for him---he needs to start thinking like a fullback and not a premier safety.

Maybe the play is to make him an offer (low, but not that low) and we could allow him to shop around--if he allows us to match any offer he gets--after all, we took a chance on him, we are winning, and the owner supports his position. I doubt he gets a ton of other offers if any.  It is a unique situation.

When have football players, or for that matter any professional athletes really ever understood their value, or in this case lack thereof?

He will want to get paid, and if we continue to win, and he stays healthy, he will get paid.

Remember.  It's money first, then ring, then jacket.

Very rarely is "team" in there for the players.

End of the day, we have to pay James, replace Captain, and likely replace Adams.

I disagree with his political views, but I’m a TEAM Panther fan. So if he gets a pick I will cheer that on.

That is called hypocrisy, something many do not even see any longer.  It is an excuse that allows you to cheer for a black who won't salute a flag forged in the fires of white elitism.   Do not boo the man (because you do not understand him) then cheer him when he does something that  benefits you.

Here is a general rule I have:  If you are white, don't tell minorities how they should feel or who/what they should salute or respect.  If you are not gay, don't tell gays how to feel or act.   If you are rich, don't judge the values of the poor--I bet you have opinions about everyone who does not adhere to your ideals and values,, right?

For the record, I have been white my entire life, and this is the first time in that life I am embarrassed about it.

What is different?  How do you assume, "He will get paid?"  He was on the  shelf a long time at the discount warehouse and nobody wanted him.  Since then, he has been kneeling, had the ordeal before the Ravens game, got fined for unsportsmanlike conduct, etc.  What makes him more attractive now when he was not before?

Reid’s team selection in free agency will still be limited. He still kneels, he makes a lot of people uncomfortable during his locker room pressers, and being real, there won’t be many owners and coaches who will want any of that.

The Panthers, with Tepper, are different. Hell, you just had Rivera rocking a “Vote” shirt the other day. A lot of owners and teams would frown on that.

Reid will have a few suitors, but it won’t be many. I believe Reid will be back, and we’ll be able to shore up one of the safety spots for years to come. Look to replace Adams in free agency, and there you go.

Lol @ Searcy being an option. I hate he got hurt, but it ended up working out for us.

Calm down grasshopper. Don’t get your left leaning political fever in the way of common sense. I said “disagree” does that mean I boo him? NO

this is what is wrong with this country today. You cannot disagree with someone before someone calls you a rascist, bigot, homophobia etc etc without knowing one ounce of the person.

just because I disagree with someone doesn’t mean I treat them like crap. Grow up.
