LeVeon Bell tweets cryptic tweet. Reminder this week is the last chance he has to report if he wants to play this season

If he wants to avoid a tag from the Steelers next year, he may be considering playing the rest of this year.

And this tweet could be foreshadowing something:

The benefit is going against a possible rusty LeVeon Bell.

The downside is LeVeon Bell being LeVeon Bell and resting up James Conner as well.

Thoughts?

Even as a Steelers fan, I had no problem with Bell until he started missing games. Same as the teammates were. But he passed up 14.5M. It’s not like he was in the last year of a rookie deal for 2M/yr.

Tear up the offer if/when he walks through the door.

If he reports he is eligible to play immediately; however, according the CBA the Steelers can seek a two week roster exemption. During that two weeks Bell would not be able to play. Furthermore, the Steelers can pay him an agreed upon reduction in salary during that two week period.

If Bell is coming to Pittsburgh, then I am relatively certain the terms of that roster exemption period salary have been agreed to.  Thus, it is highly unlikely that Bell will be on the roster for two weeks after his return.

However, technically the Steelers could choose not to seek a roster exemption at which point he could play immediately upon signing. That will not happen! He has played football since December of last year.

Well if he did show up and causes discord in the locker room, that would only benefit us.

On a side note,.. what a ding bat.  Hes going to end up with the transition tag next year and a lot less money than the Steelers offered him to sign for.

It's not cryptic, he was just working out in Miami the past few weeks.
