Bruce Irvin could realistically happen

I would have said there was a 0% chance but if the people covering the team thinks it could then there may be whispers going on if the circumstances are right. She goes on to mention that we would also need him to essentially take a discount from what he's worth to play for a contender. Still a long shot but the likelihood is definitely more than 0.

They're just reading the huddle.

There’s definitely a place if he gets through waivers. For 2M, you only put him on the field on 2nd-3rd and 7+. Only passing downs. Let him do what he does best. And it helps with every other DE when they get gassed during comebacks. Which is almost inevitable for any team. Problem is teams make them play the run too much(ATL-Beasley) and became a liability.

Marquis Haynes wasn’t a bad concept, just a bad choice of player.

Calling Lawrence Taylor a DE should get you banned from this board. And if you don't think Peppers is the best DE this franchise has had, then you have a PFF narrative. fug Greg Hardy.

Peppers is probably the best Panther of all time, not just our best DE lol.

Peppers faced league suspension too, just like TD, just like #89.  Yet only a wrongfully suspended Hardy is blackballed.

Oh I'm not disagreeing that Hardy got a raw deal and uneven punishment compared to others, he just picked a wrong year/month to have a meltdown.

I think Irvin just might be coming to town. The Panthers D seems like more of a fit since the scheme is similar to what he had in Seattle. Hurney can move a few million around to next year just like the other teams do. He and Mario are basically the same size so he can play DE, he's also a veteran pass rushers so RR is probably on board as well.

Why is Hardy even in this conversation. He is long gone from the league and will remain so. Irvin is another matter. I'm sure R.R can find ways to get him reps regardless where they put him.

We need this pass rush now more then ever.

Because he’s younger, better, cheaper, has the name number of career sacks despite not playing a full season in 5 years, has less character concerns, and is a better fit for this team.

You guys are crazy, Peppers is 4th all-time in the history of the NFL in sacks he's definitely the best DE of his generation, and number# 1 in Panthers history.

But back to the topic, with the Saints kicking the tires of Dez Bryant today, I think the Panthers definitely should try to obtain Irvin, a consistent pass rush is the only thing we have been musing on defense this season. I think a move like that would put us over the top in the NFC.

Reggie White was the best DE to play for the Panthers

He was given his second chance. He proved he was even more stupid then previously believed.
