Ron Rivera blew all three timeouts on a single point-less drive in a fourth quarter one-score game against a divisional rival

I hate to bag on Cam because he’s the heart and Ron’s an easier target. On the delay of game, Cam laid on the field for 5 seconds, then got the huddle, stayed on a knee for a few more and then finally saw no time on clock getting to the line. This was after he slid and didn’t get hit.

I think sometimes it’s a little on Cam. Not that we haven’t seen him complaining to the sideline with Shula about a play call being late but he isn’t a hurry to the line type of guy.

He’s also tired from running. We ask a ton of this guy. Not trying to make excuses cause some of it is on him but that should be noted.

Going conservative with a lead will work with the Bucs, it will not work with any of the other top 10 teams.

That third quarter was as bad offensively and defensively as any I’ve seen

That conservatism  set up was defensive lollygagging and absolutely abysmal defensive execution Before the half ended

Panthers gave the Bucs life before the half.    The defense the Panthers were playing was horrible in that situation.   No swarming to the ball.  Zero pressure on a totally immobile QB

my friend and I, at the game, called how it was going to go

1  bucs score before half.

2. Their coach says, ‘get a three and out on panthers first series- and score, and we are back in it’.

3. Panthers take foot off gas and lose momentum

seen this show from Ron and staff many times. It should not surprise anyone

Going from memory here, but 1 TO was lost to a challenge, right? The other 2 were the inability of this team to get in the huddle, call a play and get to the line. And don't forget the 5 yard delay of game penalty when they had no more time outs...

If there's one thing which hampers this offense, it's not having the time to look over the D and change the play because by the time this team is at the line there are like 5-7 seconds left on the play clock. That whole time Cam is giving us his 1st down pose and smiling to the crowd, the play clock is running.

Much of these wasted timeouts may be connected to our qb

Saints got up big and then went conservative. Seems like everyone gets complacent with a big lead

With all that Cam does he probably is tired and is slow to get up the hits and all the runs and scrambling that most QBs dont do. Then having to get to the huddle and recite plays. Mentally and physically tired. We take all that Cam does for granted. So yes I agree that some of the delays may be on Cam the first down points motivates and fuels Cam.

Often it’s not that the team gets away from what they have been doing to get them the lead... more often it’s that good teams adjust.  Rams adjusted and started scoring.

Eagles fans said said the same thing after our game... that they got soft... stopped blitzing etc.  And they didn’t, at all.  Carolina just figured it out.

Explain to me the conservative calls on those drives that you are claiming were "conservative."

Yesterday someone in the primary thread on the game did a breakdown of those "conservative" plays.... and they were all passes... two of them were actually deep routes that ended in sacks.

Just bc a play fails, doesn't mean it is conservative. TBH the only conservative play we had was at the kneel after the 2 minute warning.  We even passed the ball with 3:30 left in the game on a third down.
