ESPN Says The Panthers Only have a 35% Chance to Win Thursday Night vs Pittsburgh? Do You Agree With This?

The Steelers at home on a short week getting hot? Of course it’s their advantage and we are the underdogs. Of course they should win.

thats good, the pressure is on them! Our team seems to come to life better when we are underdogs.

We do have a semi bye afterwards so it’s good for the team to leave it all on the field and play a mini Super Bowl.

I don't think we're winning all our remaining games anyway.  A TNF game, 4 days turn around, on the road, against a 5-2 AFC opponent.....I'll take a loss here easier than the next 3 opponents.  Detroit, Seattle and Tampa are combined 10-14 at this point.  A win would be great, but I'd be happy just to get out of Pittsburgh with no injuries and move on.

On top of everything else you guys have mentioned in this thread, there's going to be a special tribute to the victims of the synagogue shooting that night as well. So...

- We're playing the Steelers (who always beat us)

- On the road (and we've literally never beaten the Steelers in Pittsburgh)

- On a Thursday night game (road teams have terrible records on Thursday games)

- It's a nationally televised game (we're 1-7 in nationally televised games vs. teams with winning records since the 2015 year, 1-8 if you count the Super Bowl and just count our last 9 overall)

- And there will be the big tribute to the synagogue victims.

Friends, there is absolutely no way in hell we're winning this game. That won't be the end of the season though: I'll still be fine with a 6-3 record.

You're going to be surprised how tough we play them. Guys always play hard against their old team and this time, it's the owner who is going up against his home.

I think the Steelers have some real question marks in the games they've played, including a loss to the Ravens and a tie with the Browns. They've been playing lights out without Bell recently, but something tells me that the storyline requests they have a meltdown before it all plays out. Thursday night is just the time and place for it to happen.

You know they say that all men are created equal, but you look at the Panthers and you look at the Steelers and you can see that statement is not true. See, normally if you go one on one with another football team, you got a 50/50 chance of winning. But the Panthers are genetic freaks and they're not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at beat them. Then you add Norv Turner to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the game on Thursday, Steelers got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but the Panthers, they got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because Mike Tomlin KNOWS he can't beat the Panthers and he's not even gonna try!

So Steelers, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus our 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning on Thursday. But then you take the Panthers 75% chance of winning, if they were to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cent, the Panthers got 141 2/3 chance of winning on Thursday. See Steelers, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you at Sacrifice.

Preach!

We're gonna get their best shot. The only thing is the Obi Wan Chudfather has his many Jedi moving swiftly and in harmony. This offense is looking like a beast. You know it's coming but what can you physically do about it?

The secondary is now fully on line and clicking. The D line has been causing trouble for offenses. This feels like 2015.

Ronde said on the broadcast " it's as if they're just toying with" Tampa's D. When was the last time you've heard someone say that about our offense?

I was on the Norv train. I kinda knew it was coming, him being Chuds OC but the results so far and the personnel has far exceeded my expectations so far.

On the contrary, Thursday will be our finest moment. Similar to the Thanksgiving game vs Cowboys back in 2015.

A 19 pt. win? We'd need some really good play and some really good luck.

OTOH, if the Ravens can win at Heinz by 12, then this game is definitely winnable.

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
