CMC worth the pick?

He was worth it before the draft.  After the draft.  And today.

All this talk about Kamara and Hunt needs to stop.  The entire league didn't value those guys as much as CMC.  Are they as good?  Possibly.  But they also have some advantages that CMC absolutely does not have.  Mainly the QB/system in New Orleans, and the system/surrounding talent in KC.

He was exactly what this offense needed, and pair him with Samuel (if Ron would get his head out of his ass), and we hit on a No. 1 RB, and a No. 1 WR in back to back picks.

Lattimore is great, but would he have gotten us to the playoffs last season?  No.  CMC helped though.  OJ Howard?  Now you are just making the 2 TE weirdo get hot bothered here.

I'll say it again.  Were we to have had a CMC type player on the roster when we faced Denver in the SB...I think that is a completely different game.  We needed a playmaker, and that's what we got.

People need to watch that McCaffrey hurdle play again if they think he's lacking anything athletically compared to Hunt or Kamara. He did that in the open field over a flying linebacker, but he could have been all alone on a track over a static obstacle. It was perfect form, landed in stride and kept picking up speed. That is rare athletic talent, as much as anyone he's regularly compared to.

Barnett and Kamara would still have been a better combo but it’s water under the bridge.  The gap between that hypothetical 1/2 pick combo and the real one isn’t near as massive as it looked last year.

Why draft Barnett when we could just sign Greg Hardy?

Should have done both.  To not sign Hardy NOW after completely ignoring the second most important position on the field for so long and being so close to the ring knowing any sane mind could see him being the missing piece is beyond all feeble powers of human comprehension.

Weren’t you one that championed that Hall joker that we traded up for in the 3rd?  What a joke.

No, I wasn't a Hall fan. I read some pretty negative reviews on him pre-draft. I hoped he'd work out after we picked him, but that's the same thing I do for every pick whether I like it or not.

A similar refrain.  Wishing upon a star=our philosophy on addressing the defensive end position.  STILL no plan to address it by the way down the home stretch this year or going forward with a late pick in every round and no money/nor difference making targets in FA other than the Kraken.

So who was worth a top 10 pick then in 2017? If not a number 1 receiver and number 1 running back,... then who?

The guy is our number 1 receiver and running back,... so hows that not worth the Number 8 pick? Hes been the difference maker in at least 8 wins since we drafted him-- big chance we dont win those games without him,..

So again,..who else would we have drafted at number 8 that won us 8 games or heavily contributed to the wins?

Ill wait,.. this should be good.

  • Dalvin Cook (Vikings)
  • Joe Mixon (Bengals)
  • Alvin Kamara (Saints)
  • Kareem Hunt (Chiefs)
  • James Conner (Steelers)
  • Tarik Cohen (Bears)
All players drafted after CMC who could do better and just as good for us during that draft. CMC is good I just give Panthers a C for drafting him so early that year. That draft was LOADED with runningbacks

If you think McCaffrey is just a "runningback", you have no idea what you're talking about.

At this point, McCaffrey is the foundation of an awful lot of what we do on offense. And that's because Norv Turner knows what he's doing, knows what McCaffrey is capable of and knows how to use him.

This is basically like saying we'd have been better off drafting someone other than Newton because he's "just a quarterback".
