CMC worth the pick?

Someone can correct this if I'm wrong but I think he is in the top 20 YPC, top 25 in rushing TDs among RBs (with Cam as his QB), top 15 in Receiving TDs among RBs, and top 5 in Receiving yards among RBs.

I would say he could even be used more. I wonder how high those numbers go if Cam had actually hit him in the flat on the numerous occasions he was wide open and missed due to Cam trying to make the big play.

I'd say anytime you have a guy who the other team has to game plan around, he is worth a top 10 pick.

All players drafted after CMC who could do better and just as good for us during that draft. CMC is good I just give Panthers a C for drafting him so early that year. That draft was LOADED with runningbacks

go ahead and admit it guy, you only heard of the first two predraft. Mixon only because of a bad wrap. You know you are being one of those hindsight schmucks right now right?

I could go back and examine the drafts of every Super Bowl champion for the last 20 years and find what would have been better choices or engineer the "perfect draft".

They won. Hence, nobody gives a s--t.

I've never seen a team have a perfect draft, not even among teams that are known to draft very well. As long as you pick guys that help you win, who cares where you got them?

One thing you’ll find is those teams rarely if ever use a high pick on a RB.

McCaffrey has a chance to the break the Panthers franchise record for yards from scrimmage in a single season. He could also break the record for most receptions. I believe both are held by Steve Smith. So in year 2, McCaffrey could have, statistically at least, the single best season in franchise history for a skill position player. There's no fuging debate here lol

Using Kamara and Hunt to discount CMC is a bit unfair, because of them being much later picks than him. Everyone passed on them multiple times.

You can lend credence to the argument that you shouldn't use a high pick on a RB, unless it's a generational talent, like Gurley and Barkley.

Yall gotta stop with the talk about Paytons system for Kamara though. The dude gets double teamed on routes out of the backfield consistently. Did so on his TD catch last night. He's special.

All that being said, we need to decide what the hell we're doing with CJ Anderson once and for all. There's some strange tense dynamic going on there.

I wish Rivera would use CJ to close out games rather than pummeling CMC into the line to burn the clock. I saw a stat today where i think 22 has only sat out 18 offensive snaps or something like that this year. We need him fresh in December and beyond.

Here's the tweet;

CMC is the 5th in NFL with Yards from scrimmage out of all the players who have only played 8 games so far this season ( more ahead of him that have played in 9 NFL games.  If he played in 9 NFL games at the pace he is going, he would be ranked either 7th or 8th for yards from scrimmage.   People saying he is not worth the pick, judging from what we have seen so far out of him in his second season is just absolutely ridiculous at this point.  Besides Newton he has been the most important piece of our offense and he is BALLING out.  Can't stand some of the people on this board and never being able to admit you were wrong.

Question was "he worth a top 10 pick" my answer is still no. The big difference is Norv fooking Turner. CMC type player was available in rounds 2 and 3 in that draft. We could of had 2 outstanding players that year if we didnt pull the trigger so early on a scatback. You guys get gitty after we beat non condltenders and cmc has a good game.  People so pressed to make him seem like some pre bowl type talent when he is really a James White type of talent.  This year our OLine is playing out of it's mind and Norv actually as given us a professional playbook. I love the support of cmc but keeping it real if that draft was redone he wouldn't of been picked at number 8.

The fact the saints got Kamara in the 3rd is straight up luck. If anyone knew how good Kamara would be he would be a top 10 pick as well.

The saints didnt plan on nailing a CMC esque player in the 3rd round. That was luck.

The we could have had talk is silly.

Honestly when it is 3rd and 5 who would you throw it too? Olsen or McCaffrey. When you need yards on 3rd and one we give it to McCaffrey as many times as not. That ball he plucked out of the end zone against Baltimore's and that sideline tight rope along with the leap over the tackler were big time plays as good as I have seen by any other RB/slot receiver in the league. He was definitely worth the draft pick. Considering how many top 10 picks bust, CMC is a great pick and a huge part of this offense. The next  best player behind Cam on offense.

    • It didn’t feel like we’re the Bills bc we’re not a consistent conference contender yet we’re a rebuilding team. But with the game on the line we played just like the Bills went straight down the field and scored a tuddy then converted a 2pt conversion I have to give credit where credit is due. And the chiefs played us like we were the Bills in an AFC championship game, drive down the field and kicked a walk off FG to win at the end very similar to me. Are saying our defense stunk yesterday? Vs an elite offense team with elite coaching an elite QB man idk what you want them to do. KC does these things to the best defenses in the league consistently to win AFC chips and Super Bowls let’s not devalue who they are. I saw us play KC to the wire and barely lose defense did its thing as much as it could. Bingo!!! We’re also forgetting how injured we’ve been defensively this year, yes we need to build up the D but adding a few pieces and D Browns successful rehab should make us a very strong unit again. Couple that with the offense we saw yesterday and we’re winning our division.
    • Canales deserves a lot of credit. I'm very pleased. He's definitely making strides with Bryce. I also think some of his lack of commitment to Bryce as the starter is to motivate Bryce. I think he liked what he saw when Bryce was benched.  Even the Defense looks tremendously better with just a couple more pieces getting healthy. Wonnum has made our pass rush viable again.  I would love to see this team with one more good player across the defensive front, DT or an edge rusher.
    • I didn’t see any limitations yesterday
