Let's not forget, Tampa Bay has the #1 offense in the league

If you thought we would blow them out you were sadly mistaken. There is a reason that they have the #1 ranking. Thankfully, their defense is 29th which is why they are not a playoff team.

The Panthers look very much like the 2015 Panthers currently, which was full of nail biters and lost leads.

Let's go.

I'll take it

Anyone saying we took our foot off on offense is dead wrong, Tampa kept the ball most of the 3rd quarter and we had a couple of missed plays. Offense made plays when it mattered without the whizbang plays, which is even more important. This was an excellent win against a desperate divisional rival.

I was mostly watching the Pitt/Balt game but kept an eye on this one. Even without full attention, it was obvious to me that Carolina did not lose momentum in this game during the 3rd Qtr due to "letting the foot off the gas".

The first two drives of the 2nd half were 3 and outs due to sacks by TB. Defensive pressure from a relatively talented TB Dline that is trying to make plays to get back into the game - highly paid pros making professional plays in the NFL is what makes these games fun to watch.

The 3rd drive of the 2nd half was aggressively called by Rivera in response to TB making their comeback. The first 5 plays were pass plays on that drive which stalled at 4th and 1 at the TB 34. The opening for TB occurred when Newton slid too early on a clear 1st down which was followed by Rivera's decision to go. Then, the killer of Box Scores occurred - False Start/Illegal Motion penalty makes 4th and 1 into 4th and 6. Rivera then kept is aggressiveness by still going for the 4th and 6 which was the right call to instill confidence in his defense. If some freak turnover or something had turned this game into a Car loss, this innocuous penalty that nobody would have noticed in a Box Score would have been the play of the game.

Anyway, TB and Fitzmagic have proven to be able to move the ball and score this yr. This offense believes in Fitzmagic and so they get on rolls against anyone - they have played legit teams and defenses all yearlong and the only egg that they have laid is the Chicago game. NOBODY has stopped Fitzmagic for an entire game.

Anyway, good win and cover for Car.

Bucs have came back and made games close in the second half a lot this year. All of their games have been close, one score games expect for the one against Chicago and they're the only team to beat the Saints so far.  Carolina still beat them by 2 touchdowns.

Dude...we were up 28...Ron and Washington clearly took their foot off of the defensive throttle. Thank God for Norv for taking over the driving responsibilities.

Friends don't let Ron coach with a lead.

3 possessions in the 3rd quarter.

1st  was 3 & out highlighted by giving up a 9 yard sack on 3rd and 6.

2nd was also 3 & out highlighted by a 10 yard sack on 2nd & 9

the 3rd effort was highlighted by Cam sliding short then getting a penalty on 4th down making it 4th &6.

You have to place some blame on the offense's execution (or more accurately, lack of execution)

We were blitzing like the 2016 panthers in the first half. Then we stopped and allowed 21 straight pts. Started blitzing again and 0 more pts.  That’s the pedal the foot was taken off of.

Exactly it's not rocket surgery....we were passing the whole game including the 4th quarter like we should and should always have.

Norv is the OC we needed, wanted, deserved, and all dat.

Ron and whoever he is controlling at DC always stop bringing pressure and play 10 yards off the WR AND THEN ALSO have his CBs bail even on 3rd and shorts or 3rd and 17s where they peddle 10 yards back off the first down marker. It's lame and stupid will not work throughout a playoff run. You should always keep doing what got you there, you're always going to be better at it anyway and you can't damn milk 2 quarters of football away in this version of the NFL in particular.

People are overreacting.  We were up by 28, gonna win by 14, and quite frankly the game was never close.  Yeah, they got within 7, but who actually thought we were gonna lose?

It's not a big deal IMO and last week against the Ravens showed we know how to keep the foot on the gas when we really need to against a quality defense.  We pounded the Bucs.  It was never a game.

I'd call a 7 point game early in the 4th quarter pretty close.

We had two 3 and oit with sacks involved in both series. Otherwise the offense looked pretty much in sync.

We made some poor decisions defensively but overall i don't think we took our foot off the pedal.  Tampa made some stops but we got back in track. TD and a take away by the DYOR.

We were having procedural errors and struggling to get snaps off in time throughout the 3rd quarter. That's the opposite of in sync.

Wrong, Tampa simply did a better job picking up our blitzes, hence why we used more corner blitzes late to get around their blocking.
