Since the trade deadline just passed. Would you guys trade two first rounders for a Myles Garrett or Von Miller?

Myles definitely.    Von, at this point, not really.

Myles would be someone you would immediately take in the first, at almost any pick, so you give up a lower pick and then another (most likely at least mid-lower pick the next year) to pay for knowing the commodity.

If we had an elite pass rusher on this team, like right now, we'd have a great shot at going deep imo.

I'm of the belief unless you're absolutely set everywhere else, a franchise quarterback is the only thing you should be trading two firsts for. Just my personal opinion. I don't think we're set at all other positions. I agree with you though that DE is our biggest position of need.

Let's put the trade this way. If von Miller or Garrett were sitting ten picks away from our first round pick and we could trade up with a future first? You do that.

I love the draft. I'm a fanatic. But draft picks have become almost over valued in the NFL. You trade picks for proven talent. You don't trade picks for reclamation or projection projects

You can still apply that to Garrett. Which is why he’s an easy yes.

But Miller is 30 and making 20+M a year. Not the same thing. Mack was younger, and had a cheap year(this one) attached. Also different,.

And we have no idea how this will turn out for the Bears. He’s already hurt. They are 4-3 and lost to Brock Osweiler. Little early to say it’s a win.

But I think we're much much closer to a superbowl than the bears and a true pressure generating defensive end is our single glaring weakness

This is way too many what's ifs but if trading for von won us a superbowl the price of two first rounders is nothing

Again this is all theoretical and none of this would ever happen. Let's just be happy we didn't trade a first round pick for amari

I’m not against the theory. I honestly would have went after Chandler Jones. And still would this off-season. If you could get him for a 2nd, at 16M/yr for 3 years(with no guaranteed money) I would jump on that. As we have seen already with Mack and Donald. Salaries are going up. That contract will be a huge value going forward. And solve our biggest need.

Just spitballin’ like you......

i don’t know,..

ill always remember what the Sean Gilbert trade did to a 12-4 team, followed by a couple of dismal seasons and a fired Don Capers,..

So maybe Miles because of his age and if he did a long term contract,..

but a Mack or Von,.. hell to the no.

This popped into my mind as soon as I saw the thread.

As short sighted as it may sound, as GM my starting position is “hell no” on-trading two first rounders for any player.

That’s where the war room negotiations have to start IMO. Garret would be worth a conversation. Miller, probably not so much.
