Saints are one of the only teams ever to play an away game on Sunday then play an away Thursday game.

You mean a home Sunday night game and a road Thursday night game, right? The only road game I remember us having before a Thursday night game was in 2015 @ Philadelphia but the TNF game was in New Orleans against the Falcons.

2012 and 2013 we played at home vs. 49ers before traveling to Atlanta, 2014 was vs. Packers on SNF before going to Charlotte, 2016 was at home vs. Broncos before going to Charlotte, and 2017 was at home vs. Panthers before going to Atlanta.

But absolutely, that’s why I always bring up that SNF followed by a road TNF game everytime I see someone crying about the schedules. LOLOL.

While I absolutely appreciate & stand behind jfra78’s sentiment, I do also appreciate the resident 4lifeagain for his constant nondouchey banter, but IronSaint’s ‘your momma’ quip goes yard....

thats being said, this division comes down to week 17. regardless of D’s competence, Saints are dangerous on O, as always....

Our D is trending up, as is our O, but consistency is a question. Traditionally, we get better in the latter half, ready to see how this plays out. Prob’ly gonna split the season, I just need us to win the January battle.....,

Much appreciated though, pal!  :)

But I agree, consistency is certainly a question on our front too, mostly on the defensive side the ball of course. But like y'all, we're starting to trend up. After a disastrous Week 1 we were giving up 48 ppg then we've steadily been dropping each week: 33 ppg after Week 2, slightly up to 34.3 ppg after our shootout with the Falcons in Week 3, then 30.3 after Week 4, then 28 ppg after Week 5, then 27.2 ppg after Week 7, and now it's down to 26.2 ppg after Week 8. Still have a bit to go before it's a number that's considered respectable though, but progress is progress.

I definitely feel a split coming as the most likely scenario as well, most likely with the home team taking each game like we did in 2013.

But you weak bruh

Just my ankles to be honest. Sprained them more times than I can count. I could never be a professional athlete with them and I can make noises with them that would make you sick.

Zero issues with anything else but I can sprain an ankle walking down the street.

But really, because the Saints aren't as good as they are on paper.

They lost to the Bucs with a second string, heave it up QB.

They barely beat the Browns, who are still not a good team despite there being a little life there.

They whipped the Redskins pretty good, but I'm not sold on Washington's offense. The Saints had good matchups in this game whereas the Panthers match up bad with Washington.

The Saints fared a little better against the Giants than we did, but we almost beat ourselves that game.

Saints barely beat the Ravens, who we pretty much stomped.

You got the Falcons in overtime, whom we had a chance to tie with to go to OT.

...and the Vikings win exposed a lot of the Saints continuing weaknesses, and Kirk Cousins' lack of talent.

The Saints are a bad team that is catching some breaks. If not for Brees, a favorable early schedule, and a slightly improved defense the past few weeks, they are probably more like 4-3 right now.

They'll be drubbed by LA, then have to go to Cincy, and have a shootout. Then Philly heads south to beat up their secondary even more with a new weapon, as the dirty birds/divisional foe show up the next week for another shootout.

I'm not saying 100% that it will end up in a skid for them. I'm just saying that I think it will be harder on them in the coming 6-7 weeks than it will be on us.

Any given Sunday, though.

The Saints are a bad team catching breaks? Are you really that delusional? The Panthers beat the worst team in the league on a flukey 63 yard field goal. But, but the Saints are catching breaks. They aren’t 6-1 by accident, they are good. The same was the Panthers are good. You look at every good team and they’ve caught breaks at some point. The Rams had Montgomery fumble away a chance for Rodgers to win it. Good teams often have a little bit of luck along the way, that’s how it’s always been.

Saints gonna take L's vs. LA, Cincy, Philly, and ATL. Maybe even Cowboys.

We're gonna beat TB, DET, SEA, TB, and CLE. Maybe even Pitt.

We're in good shape right now, Saints injuries or not.

I am not so confident that they'll lose all those games but its possible.

Seattle will come in with the shoe on the other foot.   Most times we have played them and won we were the "underdog"  I think we'll be favored and Seattle will be focused to hand us a loss at home.  A statement game for them.

They are a good team but can be beaten.  Some outlets believe they are better than the Rams.  IDK we'll see.

They have had a lot of good bounces go their way which I have no issue with but they can be beat and I expect a couple of losses soon.

Doesn't matter if we can't take care of business in weeks 15 and 17.

If I had to script the NO/LAR game, it would go like this:

1st quarter - NO gets the kickoff and on the board first with a field goal. They make a time consuming opening drive down the field, but ultimately LAR's D clamps down and holds them to 3.

On the following drive, LAR answer with a Touchdown. NO can't stop the pass game, but Gurley ends up capping the drive with a 12 yard run.

NO gets the ball back with 3 minutes to go, and drives it up to the Rams' 45. End of 1st.

2nd quarter - NO falters a bit, and ends up stalling out. They punt and it ends up being a touchback.

Goff leads the squad out and they proceed to run the ball a good bit on this drive, chewing up the clock. They end up in a third and long because of a penalty, but get a clutch conversion. Goff then finds his target on the next play for a 22 yard TD pass.

On the next drive, NO starts running their quicker pass offense and hit up Kamara a decent bit out of the backfield. They also have a few 7-8 yard pass plays over the middle, and end up in the red zone as we approach the five minute mark until halftime. It only takes two plays for Brees to punch it in.

Rams get the ball back with two timeouts and about 4:10 to go in the half. They return to Gurley for a few plays at first, and then hit a long pass play. Before you know it, they are inside the Saints' 30 yard line. They run us down to the 2:00 warning. After, they run Gurley a few times and find him once out of the backfield. The Saints' D, fueled by the crowd, get a key stop on third and goal from the 8 yard line. With only :24 left on the clock, the Rams elect to go for it on 4th down. Coverage is good, and Goff feels some pressure, but at the last second he finds Gurley crossing over the middle of the end zone. Touchdown Rams to end the half. Currently 21-10, LAR.

3rd quarter - The Rams hit a couple passes and end up stalling out in field goal range. They cap a short, quick drive with three points.

Brees takes over from the 25 after the ensuing kickoff. After a busted coverage, they get a long pass play that gets them across the 50. They have a good passing drive going but end up getting a few penalties that force them into a field goal.

We get our first three and out of the game. The Rams come out swinging again with the pass game, but a drop and a couple breakups do them in. Punt.

Once again, we get a good passing drive from New Orleans. Touchdown at the three minute mark in the 3rd.

Goff answers. It only takes four plays. After a long completion to Cooks and a couple other nice, long passes, Gurley runs it in from the 7 yard line.

The Saints offense, looking a little gassed, fizzles out at the end of the quarter, and we close it out with a punt.

4th quarter - With a little momentum on their side, the Rams once again get a quick passing attack going and drive down the field fast. This time, a costly fumble in the backfield backs them up a bit, and they have to settle for a field goal.

On the next drive, the Saints once again enter Rams territory. This time, it is a combination of a powerful run/option game with Ingram and Kamara.

The crowed is quickly silenced, though, as new Ram Dante Fowler hits Brees from his blind side, as Brees was looking for Thomas downfield. The ball is fumbled, and scooped up by a Rams DB. They return it to the red zone before being brought down.

One play later, the Rams have another touchdown pass. There's only 6:50 left on the clock, and the Saints have dug themselves a pretty big hole now. It's 41 - 20.

On the next drive, Brees finds a couple quick targets and then ends up catching Kamara out of the backfield WIDE OPEN for a long YAC touchdown. 41-27 with 5:15 to go.

The Rams take the field and hand it to Gurley twice. NO, stacking the box, hold him to only 4 yards. The Saints call their first timeout after the second down attempt. It's third and six, and good coverage forces a throwaway. The Rams punt the ball away, and NO calls for the fair catch at the 39 yard line with 3:15 to go.

Brees finds Smith open for a 24 yard gain. The hurry up offense then has him finding Kamara for a 17 yard gain.  One play later, right before the two minute warning, he finds Ben Watson for a 20 yard touchdown! 41-34!

After the kickoff, the Rams run a toss to Gurley for 4 yards. Two minute warning. Second and 6, the Rams hand it to Gurley for three yards. Timeout #2 by NO with 1:52 to go. Third and three to go, and the Rams run a gutsy play action and hit Gerald Everett for an 18 yard gain.

The Saints call their last timeout at 1:40, but there isn't anything they can do. Victory formation for three downs and the game is over.

The Rams remain undefeated, and the Saints look up to see that the Panthers have stomped the Bucs 43-17.

If and big if, we can go 2-0 over our next two. We have a chance to be 11-2 going into the last three games of the season whereas the saints could easily drop a few in that stretch.

I see TB as a trap game tho. Hopefully our guys aren't looking to Pitt already

Well I have to give the Saints credit. They had the home field and ref advantage, and ended up pretty much flipping my script in their favor. It helped me out with Brees and Kamara on my fantasy team, lol.

I still think they are peaking now and will still drop 2-3 games over their next 4-5. They can barely stop anyone's offense, and just hang their hopes on overpowering opposing defenses.

Teams are going to start keying on Michael Thomas too. He's probably that one dude I hate the most on that quad, and he ain't getting away with his junk once Donte and James get on him.

I'll give credit where it is due, though. It is going to be hella tough to beat them in NO, and we can only hope that we stomp them in Charlotte when we get the chance. Otherwise we might see another postseason visit to NO, and nobody here wants that. They are giving Brees his Peyton Manning-esque redemption-victory hype tour now.
