Quote
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Saints first-round DE Marcus Davenport is expected to miss "about a month" with a toe injury.
The 14th overall pick in April, Davenport was injured on the final play of the win over the Vikings this past Sunday night. Rotating in with Alex Okafor and Cameron Jordan, Davenport has four sacks through seven games. It's an obvious hit to the depth up front with the Rams coming to town this week. Oct 31 - 1:13 PM

Not a game changing loss for them but significant nonetheless, as they have very little depth behind him. Especially considering their upcoming schedule:

vs Rams

at Bengals

vs Eagles

vs Falcons

at Cowboys

at Bucs

I can't see them getting out of that better than 3-2, and possibly worse.

We really need to take care of business in our upcoming games:

vs Bucs

at Steelers

at Lions

vs Seahawks

at Bucs

at Browns

Should not lose more than one of those (most likely Steelers if any). Good opportunity to make up some ground on the Aints and possibly surpass them. Most think the division comes down to our meetings in week 15 and 17 but I think this upcoming stretch of game is more important. If we can come out ahead here all we'll need to do is beat the Aints at home and the division is ours, regardless of what happens week 17.

I agree we shouldn't lose more than one, but don't sleep on the Seahawks.  They always play us very well and they've looked much better than expected this season.

Plus Russell Wilson is the luckiest QB in the world when he plays us.

I miss that rivalry at its peak.  I hated when we lost, but the games were always some of the best of the season due to the combination of young, athletic QBs + great defenses.

Damn I had forgotten that they're playing the Eagles, Falcons, AND Rams at home. What a draw. At least we get to host Seattle.

And they got Steelers at home we have to go to Pissburgh on a short week...

We both always have Falcons home and away...

Saints gonna take L's vs. LA, Cincy, Philly, and ATL. Maybe even Cowboys.

We're gonna beat TB, DET, SEA, TB, and CLE. Maybe even Pitt.

We're in good shape right now, Saints injuries or not.

So Saints are gonna go on a 4-5 game skid here, while the Panthers continue to string together wins?

Why?

    • What are the matchups, stats and superlatives?   I think this will be a hard game. Bucs are a very balanced team on offense:  7th  in total yards per game, 7th in passing, 10th in rushing. Baker is having another career year even better than last year but despite missing his Godwin and Evans. Bucs defense is poor (29th) particularly passing defense, but we’re also depleted in our receiving with Coker and Sanders likely out. Running Chuba is key but their defense is better against the run. (16th) I think this is likely going to require us to score a lot of points to keep up and hopefully the home field advantage tips the scale in our favor. My other concern is our run defense and being able to stop their rookie study Bucky Irving who the Bucs have shifted more carries to recently and he’s averaging 5.4 ypc and knows how to get into the endzone with 5 TDs so far.
    • This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving.
    • Who had the massive meltdown last year? Hope they feel better this year.
