Should we lock up Chris Clark Now

The guy may not be spectacular but he has done a great job.

Considering the whole OL didn't give up one sack to the team leading the league in sacks and the No. 1 Rated defense in the NFL.  That says a lot.

His veteran leadership and solid play has turned our shaky OL start into a solid unit.

I think Marty needs to get on the phone with his agent and hammer out a deal before the end of the season.   It will suck if we resurrect his career and he moves on to another team because we failed to lock him up.

Even if Clark was good enough to be worth locking up, which he isn't, he's 33 years old.  He's just a one year rental.  We're gonna either have to re-sign Williams or look into drafting a LT in the 2nd-4th round next year.  I would say 1st but I think we need to target a pass rusher in the 1st this year, depending on where we're picking.

Idk, maybe. Folks keep mentioning his age, but looking across the league, age aint what it use to be. 33 is the new 30.

Part of the reason we passed on Whitworth was because of age, he's still ballin. Not to say Clark is on that level, just saying giving him a 2 yr deal after the year may not be the worst decision. Let's see how he performs down the stretch.

Daryl Williams is a pending free agent though and he's a much better OT and much younger. The only reason that we should even entertain the idea of letting him walk is if our medical team is red flagging his knee going forward.

Moton and Williams is the future. That's our starting OT tandem for the rest of Cam's prime. The answer actually is on the roster this time.

I understand the age thing.  And Moton and Williams are our future (providing Williams signs with us)

If Williams signs elsewhere and we let Clark go somewhere else(and he will), then what.  We are stuck again with M. Kalil at LT.

Emhoward is also correct age shouldn't be a major factor if the guy is balling out.  Give him a deal that we can get out of easily if his production starts to fall off.

If he's willing to sign a one or two year deal right now for backup money, sure. But why would he? If he could tinues to play well, he should be able to leverage this into a one to two year deal for starter money. One to two year deal of starting LT money is set for life type money.
