I said he never went to Auburn. That’s a Fact. Rivera decided. Hurney agreed. What’s the issue?

It’s not like there was a young QB(highly drafted) that was already on the roster taken by Hurney the year before. One that was so bad he was the reason you had a shot at Cam. Oh wait.....

You mean that guy he tried to trade up for till the scouts talked him out of it?

May have overstated a Bit lol

Minor related rant incoming:

i donk care if the guy had a single nice game or plays every now and then. Heck Kerry Colbert looked amazing in 2004 when Smith went down. And that dude sucked.

im talking who are real consistent contributors and starters?

Funchess has never been better than Ok, he wouldnt even see playing time on many teams.

And I’ve stated before I hold the opinion that our WR core is pure crap until they prove otherwise(DJ Moore aside). I’m tired of hearing about their potential without any results. If they got game they need to show it. Bottom line.

and Bradberry? He is just ok,  I hear every year how he is the training camp hero but he has good games then he has had some terrible games. And everyone and their grandmother knows Jackson is the better player already.

there is a difference between being drafted and seeing some time, being barely serviceable as a starter and actually contributing.

i honestly can’t think of another draft recently that I’m more excited about than the 2018 Draft class for us, we may have very seriously landed 3 starters, not just role players or depth but starters.

TLDR: op admits he exaggerated a bit, but also complains that there is a difference with being drafted and seeing some playing time and actually being a quality starter.

Again, you're trying to pick and choose, and mixing criteria while you're at it.

If you wanna just pick and choose what matters, then you can argue that Phil Savage was a great GM because he drafted the best left tackle of all time in Joe Thomas.  You just have to ignore the fact that he put together a bunch of losing squads around him (mind you, I've learned some folks here are pretty good at ignoring the big picture when it suits a narrative).

As I've stated many a time, what matters is the full roster that you put together and how many games that roster wins.  Using any other criteria is just ridiculous.

Keep Pounding has to do with great defense and pounding the rock. That has always been the Panthers identity. Before Carolina Rivera was known to be a DC who always had a top 5 defense. So as a Panther coach he fits.

I'd say he has done very well despite a wishy washy FO. He couldn't really shop for the groceries but his schemes were fundamentally sound.

So you RR nut huggers were OK with the Giants game?  The skins game was fine with you?   The first 3 quarters of the Eagles game?  That was what you were looking for in a head coach?  This team should be 7-0 now.  Instead, we get beat by the Falcons, we lose to the Redskins, we barely beat the Giants and Eagles and cowboys

This is the same guy who said Amini was his starting LG...The same guy who used to support Shula....The same guy who plays not to lose unless his seat is hot.  He should thank Norv Turner for findng a glitch in the Eagle D--he should thank Gano for his miracle FG at home vs the Giants.

We have better talent than most teams.  When RR gets out of the way, we win.

Who said otherwise?

The post right after was for clarity. The guy deserves credit. If you pick guys and they become studs you deserve the credit. Every coach or GM has lobbied for guys who busted. I don't think he's a bad GM. We've never been Cleveland. A second round QB is what it is a far as Pickles. Everybody was hoping.

I never said he didn’t. I did say he was only in that position because of his own ineptitude, but he still chose him. Did I say anything that was false?

"Never change"... a sure-fire recipe for falling farther and farther behind in the league year after year.

Defense. If you don't have one...

Running the football, fundamental.

You can add to those thing but if you change them you will lose in football.

That's why we've never been Cleveland.

All gms listen to input from the coaches. The gm ultimately selects the player if his opinion on him matches the coach's opinion.
