While we're on cloud 9..let's talk HoF

If Cam continues at his current pace this season, he will have the MOST total yards and total TD's of ANY PLAYER IN NFL HISTORY thru 8 seasons.  Let that sink in for a minute.  Of all the amazing QBs to ever lace them up in the NFL, our boy Cam Newton has a shot to be number 1 in both major categories after 8 seasons.

Cam has broken too many QB records to be a "maybe".  He going to the Hall... just matter of time now. Luke as well if he stays healthy

Not only that but part of the criteria is how dominate you can be.  Cam is uniquely different than any QB in the league or to ever play the game.  He is the only QB that is feared as a runner.  Not to say there aren't other Running QB but none of them are feared like Cam.

Total TDs he is among elite QBs for Total TDs.

Cam will be in right now.

Luke is in too.  Not only for his tackling but because he is so damn good at diagnosing plays.  His ability to sniff out a play before its snapped is near the top of ANY MLB to play the game.

Pep....nothing more to say.

Greg Olsen has a chance.  The 3 consecutive seasons with 1000 yds has never been done before and there have been some great TE to play the game that are in.  I think if he can manage one more 1K season (which would mean 1 more season injury free) He'd be hard to resist player.

TD is probably the most underrated LB in the league.  TD was on his way to his first Pro Bowl when he blew out his knee.   Since he has come back him and Luke are the best LB duo in the league and it isn't even close.

Ryan Kalil's 5 time Pro Bowl appearances will also garner some consideration.  Not only the Pro Bowl but his value on our OL is invaluable.  He is smart and keeps our OL working well as a unit.  Larsen is good but he's no R. Kalil.

Finally, He's not on our roster anymore but Steve Smith. SS spent the majority of his career in Carolina and some of his greatest moments here.  He will be another one that will get in one day.  At 5'9" his ability to take over a game was so much fun to see.  (I personally watch him destroy Minnesota in 2005)  Plus he is the only WR in many, many years to win the triple crown. (Rec, Yds and TDs) I believe it was TDs he was tied for.

This came up at the view party today:

At the very least, there are 4 active players on this team that WILL be in the NFL HoF.

Cam, Kuechly, Olsen, Peppers.  Maybe TD and another one we don't quite see yet.

That is INSANE.  We need to capitalize on the talent we have this season.  This is a SB squad folks.  Yes, we can be frustrating on offense given our style but when we're on, WE ARE ON.

I feel we have too good of generational talent on this team to let it slip by the wayside.  The guys in the locker room see this year as a clear opportunity and I think a pretty great team is actualizing before our very eyes.

This can be more special than '15.  I'll try not to overhype too fanboy-ey but let's just say, our ceiling is clear this year.

Peppers - already a lock

Olsen - strong case, will be solidified if he can move into top 5 category on his stats. I think he is currently in the top 10 all time.

Kuechly - If he stays healthy for another 5 years and continues to put up strong stats.

Cam - He probably needs to get to about 45,000 passing yards.    He's already broken  the rushing records for TDs, and will hopefully pass Michael Vick in rushing yards.  Winning a SB would also help his case.

TD - he will not have enough stats to even get nominated, but he will be in the Panthers Hall of Honor.

100% agree Luke is a lock, but you throw out Urlacher's name like he was just some JAG who was lucky to get to the HOF. That dude was a STUD. 4-3 weakside DE size with strong safety speed. If it wasn't for the back issues he developed he probably would've had a career that put him in the conversation for best MLB of all-time. As it was, he still had a career that was clear-cut HOF worthy. Don't hate on Urlacher. That guy was the truth.

Whooooooooa there! I'm fortunate enough to been born into Bear fandom being from the Evanston North Chicago area. Cubs and Bears all day. White Sox, not so much, meh. Moved to Charlotte at 11yrs old.

NOBODY appreciates Brian Urlacher more than me. He deserved a gold jacket.

To me Luke is a slightly better player though.

I'm gonna go ahead and pencil TD in, Walter Payton Award winner, stats are up there career wise. I see him and Luke on that stage together. Especially if they win a SB.

I would like to say CMC is bound, heath willing, but it's really hard to say while he's in the shadow of Kamara.

Optimistic, yes. Possible, yes. This is the Panthers golden age. Our best players EVER all playing at the same time. Only missing 89 on this ALL TIME Panther roster.

CMC is doing what he did in college on another level. He'll set some records if he can have a JStew type career as far as longevity goes.
