While we're on cloud 9..let's talk HoF

This came up at the view party today:

At the very least, there are 4 active players on this team that WILL be in the NFL HoF.

Cam, Kuechly, Olsen, Peppers.  Maybe TD and another one we don't quite see yet.

That is INSANE.  We need to capitalize on the talent we have this season.  This is a SB squad folks.  Yes, we can be frustrating on offense given our style but when we're on, WE ARE ON.

I feel we have too good of generational talent on this team to let it slip by the wayside.  The guys in the locker room see this year as a clear opportunity and I think a pretty great team is actualizing before our very eyes.

This can be more special than '15.  I'll try not to overhype too fanboy-ey but let's just say, our ceiling is clear this year.

Pep yes.  No question.

Olsen is a strong maybe.  Dude has just owned the position prior to the last 2 years. 3 consecutive 1k seasons is damned hard to argue against.

Luke and Cam are TBDs.  They are both playing top notch football and a ring or two would make them locks but they are on the edge of being HOF players atm

Luke as of now is the only borderline HOF'er of the bunch.

Thats only b/c it takes more time to build defensive stats.  He's currently trending in that direction.

Cam would go in 1st ballot if he retired tomorrow.

Olsen may not be 1st ballot but will get in.

Pep is a stone cold lock.

Im tracking with your train of thought here.  I just think there is a significant bias against QBs without rings

Cam has the stats to blow anyone but the haters hair back.  Dude is a phenom.

I just think that sans ring Cam is a 3rd, 4th, or maybe 5th ballot kind of candidate.

He's too unique of an athletic freak to be denied.  Being a league MVP gives a huge edge as well (The list of MVPs not in the HoF is a smaller one)

You are correct on the ring bias, however, when you are a habitual record breaker (Marino comes to mind) rings weigh less.

Luke not a lock?!? Brian Urlacher made it?! Wtf?

Luke is in. He's the best in the game and very popular with the media. They love him.

Lock

100% agree Luke is a lock, but you throw out Urlacher's name like he was just some JAG who was lucky to get to the HOF. That dude was a STUD. 4-3 weakside DE size with strong safety speed. If it wasn't for the back issues he developed he probably would've had a career that put him in the conversation for best MLB of all-time. As it was, he still had a career that was clear-cut HOF worthy. Don't hate on Urlacher. That guy was the truth.
