If there was a real NFL level concern about his arm strength, don't you think defenses would have done it by now?  I don't think it's near as big an issue.  While we hate/love to talk about Andrew Luck, how many seasons has he been out due to his shoulder injury?  2-3 seasons before it's gotten better?  Let's trust Cam to take care of himself so it doesn't turn into an Andrew Luck situation.

If not throwing the deep ball means Cam makes better decisions, completes more passes for more yards and more touchdowns, is more accurate, and our offense keeps the defense guessing and on their heels, then I'm all for it.

He threw a number of absolute lasers for completions yesterday.  I have no doubt he's experiencing some lingering issues still, but I'm not worried.

I have been saying for some time that Cam really does not throw the deep pass much anymore (since his shoulder surgery). When he does throw a deep pass they seem to flutter some. I worry that teams will start to cheat up.

If anyone remembers the game against the Raiders on the road, Cam threw an absolute bomb to Ted Ginn for a TD. I've seen enough of him this year to say that there is no way he could throw that today.

The upside is that he may not have to. Guys like McCaffrey, Samuel and Moore can get the YAC to compensate. It is disappointing that we had such an early bye, though.

I was at the game yesterday and I remember Cam completing a 33 yard pass to DJ Moore on the 99 yard drive. I agree he is dealing with soreness and the deep ball hasn't been there in years past, but we shouldn't force it. Cam is efficient and playing at a high level. Also, there weren't many opportunities to throw downfield on the Ravens. They have one of the best safety duos in the league with Weddle and Jefferson. For the most part they were able to keep everything in front of them. Against weaker defenses we might see someone take the top off and Cam fling it down field.
