Maybe it's just me but I can't help but think of Torrey Holt and Isaac Bruce when I see Samuel and Moore on the field together. These two both have insane potential that they're starting to realize with speed, quickness, ability, tackle breaking and YAC up there with damn running backs... I can understand to some degree easing both of them in since Samuel was way behind with injuries so is closer to a rookie than a 2nd year player and DJ is a rookie whose had his share of struggles (fumbles that were really the deciding factor in the Skins game)... but damn we really need to keep these guys on the field and get them involved even more, and when Torrey gets back. Both guys have potential to be #1 WRs, just need to get them to master their route running and nuances of the position.

 

Obviously DG drafted Samuel but one thing that I think was a big flaw of his was his obsession with size. Moore and Samuel are going to be way way better than Funch and KB (well already better than KB...). Glad to see Hurney and Rivera ignoring that this year to get guys like Moore and Jackson. (Could anyone see DG even having Jackson on his board as anything other than a mid-late round nickel back prospect? Not a chance)

DJ Moore is absolutely going to be the real deal once he gets some more experience.

For some reason, we still don't seem to trust Samuel as a festires offensive player.

Honestly, Hurney deserves credit for Jackson. Rivera has gone on record as being nervous as hell about that oick because Jackson didn't fit his typical mold for a starting CB.

Really excited about these 2 young guys.  Seems like Curtis was a little snakebit last year, he didn’t really have a college injury history but things just kept happening to him.  Glad to see the young man make plays when given a chance, he’s grown a lot since that Bears debacle.  Moore was the #1 player I wanted in the draft, fuging love that boi.  He is going to be a monster for us.

That's wrong and it started with a @Saca312 misleading thread title through no fault of his own. Rivera said he was nervous BEFORE we got him that someone else would pick Donte before us, not nervous AFTER we drafted him. He and Hurney were both all in on Donte and both deserve credit for him.

Not saying they are anywhere near that company just that I see similar styles of play in them and explosiveness. You're right both have a VERY long way to go in terms of route running and all the tiny aspects of the position, but there's a ton of reason to be excited about both of them after not having a single exciting young WR since Smitty and no one other than him while he was here (other than Moose).

DG drafted big receivers because he didn’t think Cam could hit smaller guys consistently. Getting Norv for an OC could go down as one of the Panthers greatest moves

That may have been part of it but DG had some weird Hog Molly fetish. He drafted huge players at every position not just WR and probably said 100 times "you can't coach size."

He most definitely spoke about Jackson not fitting his usual mold for a CB and how it took some convincing to get him onboard.

First part, yes. Second part, no. He didn't say anything about needing convincing from Hurney or anyone else, just that they were trying something different and it was unusual but they were going for it.
