Why do we always defer when we win the coin toss?

I agree with defer I mean how many times have we ever scored on first drive? If u can score before halftime and score again after. This is a stupid post.

I like it, regardless of how our D does on the opening drive. Our O always sucks early and is better in the 2nd half so I'll take the ball to start the next half every time if we win the toss.

Really? What makes the first drive of the 2nd half any better statistically?  When have we scored?

Because to start the game, it's 0-0, if you go into the half ahead, having that first possession can only build on that lead, which is also a huge moral deflation for the opposing team as well

Defer is almost always better than taking the ball first.  Surprised some of you are disagreeing.  It gives you a good chance to start with good field position if you can get a stop and you get the ball back at half in case things aren't going your way.

Even though our defense is lame right now, id still defer. Something about having the ball after halftime seems better than getting it first
