Chancellor Lee Adams will be at the game tomorrow

Pounding the drum tomorrow will be Tharon Drake, a paralympian and the first legally blind college swimming coach from Catawba College.

I doubt that they announce Chancellor but they may show him on the big screen at some point. No announcement needed.

Carruth has moved to Pennsylvania. They can have him. So say we all.

Can't vote

I dunno why so many people think this. It varies from state to state but in the majority of them a felon can vote once they are out of prison and off of any sort of community supervision, ie. probation or parole. Hell, a couple states even let them vote from prison.

Normally I think once people have paid their debt to society for their crime, we're too harsh on them. A felony conviction is pretty much a life ruiner. Can't vote, can't legally own firearms, virtually completely unemployable by any company that does even the most basic of background checks. There really isn't much of an opportunity to actually turn your life around.

But sorry, in this case... fug that guy. What he did is completely unforgiveable IMO and his life should be ruined.

From dealing literally with tens of thousands of felons daily, it is unfortunate that the ones that do want to change have a tough road ahead of them. Unfortunately, I’d estimate 1/50 really want that change.

And I’m being extremely generous. Unfortunately that’s the collateral, that’s the casualties, and there will always be casualties and and the end of the day that one who wants to change is the better option that the inevitable next victims of the other 49. Hard to impossible situation to try and perfect.

What I feel is unjust in my line of work is the word ‘felon’ being used for a guy who murdered or raped someone and for another guy who stole something worth a 100 bucks a few times.

For the first, I also feel it’s unjust to focus on the things and rights this felon doesn’t get in life as a result of ultimately taking another’s (Carruth).

For the latter it is indeed unfortunate. But it’s not impossible for those that truly have the willpower to change. Not saying it won’t be harder or shouldn’t be as hard as it is for some.

Capital punishment would have saved us money
