While I would like to get another defensive end, we have slowly but surely been improving our ability to get to the qb over the few games.  Right now, we are 18th in the league in sacks, and most of the teams ahead of us have played 1 more game than we have.  And all but four of our 16 sacks come from the dline.  Don't get me wrong, no one is going to confuse us with the 76 Steelers, but we are starting to improve in that area.

Are you sure?  Because we had damn near half those sacks week 1 against Dallas.

3 in each of the last two games I believe.  And I thought we got pressure consistently against Smith, he just moved around well.  The pressure got better in the 4th against Philly, just like everything else.

Hey @Nails. Are we gonna change Barnetts name to Glassett? Marshon>>>>

Pretty ballsy (translation:stupid) after your boy was toasted by Ryan Fitzpatrick and had yet another concussion boo-boo last week...and the season isn’t even half over.

When he has ONE injury free season (much less five) and makes the play of the game in the NFCCG and Super Bowl, then he gets a golf clap.  Fat chance.

But was never  away from the game for 3 straight years .

I noticed no one took the softball you just threw by mentioning our goody two shoes team captain that recently returned from suspension, begged on hands and knees to our creepy, hypocritical ex-owner for Hardy’s return, is five years older than Hardy, and MISSED THREE STRAIGHT YEARS TO INJURY, but that’s why Nails is here.  You’re welcome.

Glassett will miss more time this year than Shon has in both of his seasons. Season isn't even half over and your boy, who plays limited snaps, is out for the year.

Recovering a fumble, because he was so far away from the QB to make a play, is not the play of the game. The player that forced the fumble gets that honor.

I'm wondering if u would get on ur hands and knees to blow Hardy since ur the only one that talks about him. Your obsession for a guy that only got sacks against Atlanta for a couple games in his career is ridiculous.

It might be because Davis didn't miss 3 straight years, and even when he was injured he was still part of the team doing everything but on field practice.

I would be down with signing Hardy.

The "me too" group would never let this lie even if he was worth the roster spot, which he isn't. So far, we've dodged a bullet with the Reid signing but that may change if there are many Jenkins supporters on the Panthers. That could start a divide in the locker room.

Yet Tyreek Hill and the Chiefs roll merrily merrily merrily to the Super Bowl and life is but a dream.  No.  Dave Tepper, armed with the facts and brass balls, tells them to suck it.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
