Once again, just like you did yesterday, he’s speaking( and preaching) in absolutes.

The question of if it’s a good idea is another issue.

Cam- yes. Every year. The only way he is ever cut is injury and we would be rebuilding anyhow.

KK- tougher call because of what you said

You're kinda arguing semantics.

Good idea or not vs. absolutes

I mean, if we end up not trading for Calais Campbell by converting Cam and KKs contracts, I would be absolutely right in my assertions. My arguments that we couldn't trade for him were grounded on the basis of it not being a good idea.

Just like OPs assertions that we're not in good enough cap shape to trade for most players people are tossing out are grounded in the same basis of it not being a good idea even though we technically could.

I get it but how is it teams like the saints that are at the cap or over it make moves and sign or trade for players?

When you know you have a short window, and a probable rebuild coming, it’s easy to

Call it whatever you want. It’s still uninformed(sorry. But true) people posting absolutes(emphatically) about situations as per normal around here.

I’m not saying we should or will. Simply showed it could easily be done. Which was stated we couldn’t possibly do. Remember.

Why wouldn’t Cam or KK want all their game checks from this year right now. That’s the easy part. No player turns that down.

You want to discuss anything involving the salary cap, let’s do it. You are telling me I know nothing, yet you don’t have a clue on a simple restructure.

There is only one of us speaking from a position of ignorance. And I’ve proven many times it ain’t me. What else you got...

Because KK just got his contract and Cam is about to get a new one, why take a pay cut, when you’re already getting paid and are about to get paid more? You don’t.

Never forget that the NFL is a business.

Matt Kalil took the hit to have his contract kill clause taken out. Players don’t make those moves unless they are gaining something from it. Cam and KK won’t be gaining anything more than they have.

Wow. It’s hard to be this wrong in just two paragraphs.

It’s not a pay cut. It’s getting this years game checks early. Nothing more for them. They get the same pay as always.

Matt Kalil did absolutely nothing to his contract. You are literally making things up as you go along. Get a clue....

The next two years won't be fun offseasons people.

Here's a look at people who's contracts are up next year:
Ryan Kalil (retiring and UFA)
Thomas Davis (retiring and UFA)
Pep (retiring again? UFA)
Mike Adams (retiring? UFA)
CJ Anderson
Marshall Newhouse
Eric Reid
Devin Funchess
Wes Horton
Fozzy Whittaker
Colin Jones
Kyle Love
Chris Clark
Amini Silatolu
Ben Jacobs
Daryl Williams
Taylor Heinicke
David Mayo
CAP
Manhertz (RFA)
Byrd (RFA)
Norris (RFA)
Cox and Obada are both ERFA

2020 UFAs:
Addison
Torrey Smith
Cockrell
Searcy
Shaq
Bradberry
Van Roten
Hawkins
Seymour

We're gonna need cap flexibility just to stay afloat. Bad contracts on guys like Matt Kalil and Munnerlyn are hurting us right now. One could argue that the last thing we need to do is to make things harder in the next few years on us financially.

I actually don’t think it’s that bad because we would be offloading bad contracts and a lot of older way past their prime players.

imo the youth movement we will be having next year is a very good thing.

Saints tho are fuged for next year, they don’t have the cap or the draft picks to do anything, they have gone all in on the Super bowl for this year and leveraged next year in doing so. If they don’t win the Super Bowl this is going to backfire on them bad.

what is the penalty for going over the cap? serious question and i'm too lazy to google on my phone.

I dont think the NFL is like the NBA where theres a luxury tax.  You just cant go over in the NFL

1. that’s not how that works buddy.

2. Look it up, Marty redid his contract and took out the kill clause for post this year.

its why we need to make him a post June 1st cut if we are going to cut him now. Lol

go brush up on your contract info and will talk to you later, I’m done arguing with someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about but thinks they do. Seriously.
