How's Eric Reid Doing so far as a Panther?

I think he's making a solid impact with the D.  Not sure if we have a Superbowl D but hey, they have their moments and so has the offense...we shall see.  As much as I appreciate the stance on social issues, I have to disagree with him about Jenkins. At some point the protest has to end and actions taken to address some of the issues (even if they seem contrite).  There is no panacea or remedy other than bringing awareness and changing the mindset of people in power (politician, law enforcement leaders, etc) to rethink how or what training would help.  Still there will be bad apples, but hopefully limited.

Continuing to protest without taking an action at some point is futile (see how people changed the narrative to disrespecting the flag vs the real problem). And after a while, kneeling becomes ineffective, like now, nobody will care anymore.  It's akin to when Forrest Gump starting running and an ass load of joggers blindly followed him...till he decided to stop.  Then what was next?  This is where we are now and what Jenkins and team decided to do was take some action, if even it's seems like tossing money at the problem.

I think if Reid would spend more time interfacing and working with LEO officers, etc, it would not only be beneficial to them, but to him. Kneeling is over, ultimately all social movements reach a crossroads and this too has come past....time to move on and make a difference off the field.

I told some of yall that Eric Reid wont be back after this season. He wont be on an NFL team ever again. He done pissed so many people off.

He is on the team this year, that is all that counts.  Eric is in it for Eric, the Panthers are in it for the Panthers.  Seems fair.

Side note, got to meet Eric Reid's mom, dad and good friend at the game Sunday.  One of my best friends bought a 25 jersey to support Eric and we happened to be sitting in same section as they were and they were all in town to watch the game.  She was really happy to have some support, I was really happy with his play on the field.

Considering the source, it's misconstruing Reid's words. In the ESPN article, they opened with the fact that Rivera doesn't have an issue with his kneeling during the anthem. Reid is simply pointing out that whether Reid kneels or not is not a choice that is Rivera's to make.

It doesn't mean that Rivera has to support it. Clearly, my understanding is, Ron doesn't, but he doesn't have an issue with Eric continuing his protest.

“Very respectfully, he doesn't have a choice,” Reid told reporters about Rivera, according to ESPN. “He's entitled to his opinion, but I know what my rights are. His family was a military family much like many of my people were in the military. My cousin just got back from Afghanistan. My mom was in the armed services. My uncle was enlisted. The list goes on."

He continued: "But when they get home they're still black in America. They're going to fight the same wars when they get home and still face the same things I'm talking about. So I get encouragement from my family that served in the armed forces because they agree with what I'm saying.”

Dude was as respectful as one can be. You make it sound like he was all "eff Rivera, he don't have a choice in wtf I do".
