Trades? Who's available on the Panthers? Who do you want from other teams? What would it cost?

Damon "Snacks" Harrison from the Giants.

Send them Vernon Butler and a 4th. Run defense problems are instantly solved. Short gets a double team eater next to him so he is freed up to make plays and it keeps Luke clean. We get rid of Butler and reunite him with Gettleman who can say the team got younger and a player he really likes. Short and Snacks are starters. Love and Poe are backups.

This had me curious. Like the idea. But I don’t think we would because of Poe and KKs salaries. And 9M in extra dead money would hit NYG immediately.

NYG only gets $1.6M in dead money this year plus what they have already paid him salary this year($3.1M) then $3.2M dead money next year since it is after June 1st.

They actually gain space trading him. We would be on the hook for $4.6M this year.

I don't want any trade that would involve us losing a player.

As of now we have 6 picks, one in each of the first six rounds. I'd be comfortable trading a third-round pick for some long-term help on the defensive line, someone like Calais Cambell would be a great fit

Truth is, folks, we are currently dead last in the NFL in cap space according to Spotrac. We have like $250,000. If we are gonna make a trade, we're gonna need to move/cut/restructure some people to do it.

Butler is getting paid more than Funch and producing far less IMHO. CAP can't see the field and doesn't earn that much anyways.

Contracts for Kalil and Munnerlyn are killing us too. There aren't many people left we can restructure, either.

What about Jerry Hughes...?

Bills ain’t going anywhere this year or next. Marty obviously has a decent working relationship with Beane. Could be a name to watch for as an upgrade to our pass rush

@Bronn

Probably costs too much and is too integral to their team for them to consider. He's their highest paid player I think.

Ideally, as I have done with my suggestions, we should look to move players in their contract years for players in their contract years, then hope to sign those players to longer deals and backload them.

We can get close to $10M if we restructure Cam and Kawann

LOL. I always forget about post June 1st during the season. Always in off season mode. Good call.

Yes all speculation...

Just because you haven't heard they are on the block don't mean they aren't. Almost all are in contract years.

Just because they are in contract years doesn’t mean they are for trade.... this isn’t the NBA

a draft pick doesn’t help you win today, but depth and talented football players do.

Also, 5 of those players WILL NOT be traded.

It is the best time to get value out of player trades.

Might not would be better terminology. Nothing is off the table.
