Cam Newton is our Blessing

Cam  is the highest paid player on the team for a reason. He should be winning games in the fourth quarter and doing what other guys like Brees, Brady and Big Ben do on a regular basis.  I don't feel blessed, I feel like he played great at the end. Last week I thought he blew it at the end. Honestly this is the first time we have come back from a big deficit in years. If he can put together a full 40 minute game I will be feeling blessed. I want consistent great effort.

Can we not give The Eagles defense credit?  It's not as though he was missing wide open receivers down the middle pass after pass.  They were all over us/Cam.  No QB is going to play a 40 minute flawless game week after week. He isn't in an offense that affords huge stats that many other teams implement.  No excuses, but doubt we'll get lucky enough to again (a) find a talent like Cam in the draft (2) pretty much injury free after years of pounding....take a look at Luck.  We are 4-2 and Cam gives us a chance to win every week.  You need to marinate on that for a minute cause other than a few elite QBs, that isn't the case.  Brady, Brees and Rogers aren't falling off trees and the many young talents are still unproven from a longevity standpoint.  He got us to marginal field goal range against the Giants, he almost completed the comeback in DC.

The reasons the Panthers haven't had to comeback over the past few (Cam) years is because we're a pound and grind offense, and drafted for the D.  So, we're generally in most games at the end.

Every week theres a new group of well paid guys with a lot of talent planning on how to make this one guy less effective next Sunday. Sometimes it's going to work.

Lol, what I was trying to say.  Redskins lost was due to turnovers, period and lucky we had any chance at all to win the game.  The Eagles definitely had a better D scheme than our O scheme in the 1st half.  As if they had a read of the playbook Saturday night.  A win is a win, no matter when Cam and crew or our D get's in going.  I'm a realist, every game is  a grind, players and coaches will have off-games and struggle during certain times of the game.   Anyone who thinks Cam is going to play lights out for 4 quarters is crazy as hell, this is the NFL, coaches are always adjusting/scheming....ain't gonna happen.

Your attitude is that of a drill sergeant I once knew.  If they put together a full 40 minute game, you'd want two in a row.  Continual dissatisfaction must emanate from a dark and lonely place.

Roses smell good. Try a whiff.

Let me be clear. I am very happy about yesterday's win. Honestly it was unexpected after watching us for the past 25 years. So unlike lots here who throw stones my yesterday evening was so much better because we won. Anything I say that sounds contrary to that should be taken in the context of what I just said

Not going to throw stones about yesterday. The difference between the first half and second was day and night.  Cam looked like a different player. Everyone says he is streaky and when he gets on a roll he can be unstoppable. Cam looked as good as I remember him ever in the fourth quarter. I hope this is the start of him doing great all the time. What a great win.

Anything I said which sounds different needs to be evaluated with this backdrop......
