Where are all the Cam haters today? Also, some observations...

*So, where are all of the "time to move on from Cam" guys that have been populating the board with their 8th alts over the last few weeks?  Like I and many others have said for years, Cam IS the team (and Luke to a lesser extent).  Our team lives and dies with Cam more so than any other team relies on any ine player.  He's our best passer, runner, and hell, prolly the best receiver if they let him be lol.  He may as well buy a nice, large fanny pack as long as Ron and his staff are here, bc he should be comfortable carrying them.  Find another QB who completes that jump pass to Torrey on 4th down while getting hit by Bennett and Bennett ends up hitting the feound before the QB, lol.

*Ron and his hamstringing of the offense as well as the team as a whole, continues to be troubling.  He relies on Cam to win because his gameplans fail.  Straight up.  Look how different the offense looked when they were forced to open it up.  That alone is why Ron should be fired...  he has been doing this crap for years now, and for years fans have asked, "why don't we just let Cam run an uptempo, no-huddle-style offense because he excels in it?"  Think back to how many games this same scenario unfolded.  Ron plods the tempo to a halt, thinks punts are solid plays, and then when he backs himself into a corner and the game is on the line, he finally is forced to let Cam take over or we lose.  It's why I miss the offense under Chud.  He wasn't perfect, but those two years felt like we were on the verge of a big play every down.  It felt fast-paced and wide-open.  But, ever since Shula, it has been this train wreck until we're forced to let Cam take over.  Remember what a discussion it was in '15 with how well the offense was running, how Cam was calling more audibles at the line than ever before?  Remember how great the offense ran in spite of all of our glaring weaknesses while fielding likely the worst supporting cast in all of the league?  What is the common denominator with that league-MVP-led offense in '15 and today's offense in the 4th qtr?  Cam having autonomy and the OC opening up the field.  It's too bad we have to steuggle for 3 qtrs before Ron decides we should let Cam actually play.

*As critical as I've been of Eric Washington, as many have for good reason, I'm hoping he found something today in the 4th qtr because that defense was a lot different than the one we've watched through the first five and a half games of the season.

*Speaking of the defense, one thing I noticed that helped make a huge difference in the 4th that seemed to be missing the first 5 games was interior pressure...  specifically, I noticed in the first half that we were leaving the C and Gs almost completely uncovered in alignment.  It looked like the DT and the DE were completely lined up to the outside of the Gs on each aide of the line.  Consequently, it appears our pass rush was constantly getting pushed outside and leaving the middle open for Wentz to step up into and running lanes to be gashed.  It made me think back to what I liked about Wilks...  we had hard time generating pressure up the middle, so we rana lot of blitzes, specifically the double-A-gap variety with usually Luke and TD lined up over the A gaps on the LOS.  We hardly saw any of that through the first 5 weeks...  today was the first time I recall seeing it in the 4th qtr.  And it worked.  Also, we started pinching the DL in on that final drive, which is what led to Wentz getting stripped.  Washington needs to stick with it...  those wide alignments were getting destroyed, and with guys like KK and Poe and the LBs we have, there is no excuse for not getting push up the middle.  Getting it is what I have always felt makes our defense excel.  When we don't get it, we struggle.

*Reid set the tone for the defense and showed vast improvement as i expected the more weeks he was here and once he got in playing shape.  Also, that INT was legit and should've been upheld.  He pinned the ball to his leg before the nose of the ball touched the ground.  Great play, but Clete struck again.

*Luke started looking more like Old Luke today, and I think it was more due to the adjustments with the line and getting pressure.  But, he also made a great individual play on the misdirection screen in the 4th.  Great day for him.  I hope we keep the pressure up and see Luke start making great plays in coverage consistently again as well.

*We are still so lucky to have Pep.  If he is getting enough snaps, I'm convinced he's capable of 10+ sacks through 40 years old.  That being said, we shouldn't be solely counting on that and I hope we try to find a pass rusher via trade by Tuesday.

*I still think Bradberry is a huge liability.  I know it's a point of contention, but I maintain he's just not very good.  He was a huge reason we were getting abused so early on.  Hopefully, we can keep generating pressure like we did in the 4th to help hide him, but with Jackson emerging as a playmaking cover corner, Bradberry is going to be picked on a lot.

* This game reminds me a lot of the Seahawks game in '15, and i hope it has a similar catalytic effect on the rest of this season as that win did back then.  I hope the confidence carries our guys through, because again, we have to win in spite of coaching.
