David Newton thinks Torrey trade really worked out

Seiously, if we get honest, Cam, the OL, and the OC are not known for the deep balls.   Torrey is like a boxer at a wrestling match.

I'll give you a different scenario. Because of the Oline's inability to give Cam adequate time. Those deep throws are few and far between. Not because of Cam, who has always had good, to great, deep ball accuracy. Or Norv, who has never been afraid to call deep passes.

you picked the wrong week to bag on smith when he just had his best game of the season and a big reason we almost came back and won.

Oh a five fuging yard TD reception is the least he could fuging do as a wide receiver.

So Worley actually ended up on the Raiders and became active for the first time this past Sunday against the Seahawks and played all but 2 of the Raiders snaps on defense and had an interception, but he was also reportedly beaten down the field with some regularity which sounds very familiar.

Sounds like Dante Jackson

So this is the hill you wish to die on? Because you are sure defending this stance pretty hard.

I mean, we could be asking you if you actually watch the games. Because you obviously missed some of Torrey's plays. But then, I don't expect you to fall on that grenade, and admit Torrey had a good game last week.

I'll give you that there is lots to complain about right now. But the game Torrey played last week, is not one of them.

In past years I’d agree but the o-line has been playing above average compared to the rest of the league and is a big reason this team is #1 in the entire league in rushing yards. Especially the past couple games, they have given Cam more than enough time.

Not sure I agree with your assessment of our Oline. Run blocking as been better than expected. I'll give you that. But pass blocking has been...not so much. Clark is not much better than Kalil, he can barely keep Cam clean, and we are throwing a lot of short to intermediate passes. As a whole, Cam is not being sacked, that is true. But man, saying Cam is not being pressured, is just not true.

I have heard that longer pass plays have been called. But for whatever reason. We are just not seeing them. Whether Cam does not trust his line, or he does not trust the WRs. Because there is a reason we are not throwing down the field. We as fans, just don't know what that is.

According to PFF the oline all around is playing above average and that’s after 6 games including a horrendous start due to injuries, amini and Kalil.

Also this isn’t the Saints, eagles or rams. All teams struggle with pressure to the qb, it’s pretty normal except the few elite olines. Gotta make plays regardless.

lol pff. Maybe they look above average b/c the pass plays are quick or cam is scrambling

So 5 for 43 with a long of 12 and a short TD is a good game for you? Damn, get out of the 80s bro.

Based on this, what you're saying, is the guy getting paid $5 mil was good at literally doing the bare minimum of catching a ball after a short jog? That's what I saw. #tradethiswaste

Yeah, I saw those grades. Says a lot about the level of Oline play this year. Clark, and Van Roten are both in the 50's. Ryan is in the 60's, Moton was under 70 last week. And Turner's grade was a little over 71 last week. Man, that ain't good.

I agree they are playing better than expected. As a unit. But there is still a long way to go to get up to good.

Getting Daryl back will help immensely. But Van Roten is much better in the run game than the passing game. So we still have to deal with that.
