4 Simple question for Jake defenders.

Ok then, if you're a franchise QB you can turn the ball over, but a game manager cannot? They do it ALL the time. Most QBs out there are game managers, only a very few (Brady, Manning, etc...) are not. Gunslingers that don't win games don't get playing time.

Which type of quarterback relies more on the running game to move the ball, a game manager or a franchise/gunslinger QB?

Which type of quarterback relies more on the defense to win a game, a game manager or a franchise/gunslinger?

Which type of quarterback is more likely to run the draw or short pass on third and long? Which kind either throws short or long, but not the intermediate routes?

If Jake isn't a game manager, who is?

The point is if you can't win the game for your team (elite QB).

As a game Manager you can't lose it.

You can't put your team in bad positions. Jake has done these things.

When you can't manage a game or Not turn the ball over you stop being a game manager and become a liability.

One question for Jake bashers...When is Peyton Manning available? Because thats the only guy that will make you all happy...We all know Jake isn't good anymore, but he's the best we got so deal with it...Sometimes you gotta support the team through the good and the bad..A new QB will be here soon, lets just get through with what we got..If it was so easy to find a QB than 5 teams every year wouldnt go drafting/picking up one..

Based on what we have gotten THIS season....I think most would be a happy w/ a Kyle Orton at this point. Even a Chicago Kyle Orton.

Jake has put us in bad positions. So has special teams. So has Williams. So has Smitty.

Nowhere in my comments did I say that he's performing well. That would be just stupid. But at the same time, suggesting he's a gunslinger is as well. He's never done that, although he often resembles one late in games when the score is close and he's on fire.

Jake is a game manager QB. He's turning the ball over too much. We all know and agree on this. But the fact remains that he is still a better option than Moore and Feeley. I know this because the people who are paid to make these decisions and who have a track record of winning say so.

Would I like a Manning/Rivers/Brady under center? Of course! But we have who we have, and I hope the OC realizes what he can and can't do and starts calling plays accordingly.

Jake is no longer accurate.

He throws behind receivers, short receivers and Long receivers on a regular basis.

Under Pressure he is just flat out awful.

The number one difference I've seen in Jake now compared to a few years ago is all of a sudden he's tentatitve in the pocket. After a few seconds in the pocket, or when he can feel the pressure coming, he gets scared and forces throws. Basically Jake is scared to get hit. I didn't see that in 03-06, and that's the number one difference I've noticed.

But you don't know Moore is a worse QB than Delhomme until it is put into action. Look at Matt Cassell, sucked ass in the preseason then caught on when Brady went down and had a pretty decent season. Trying Moore is better than sticking with Jake. This season is a clear-cut loss anyways. Give the people what they want, no more Jake.

Lol I love the "Jake gives us the best chance to win" posts. Would Moore really have thrown 10 INT in the first 5 games? He also couldn't be any less accurate then Jake is. Also, he is pretty mobile unlike Joke "the statue" Delhomo.

People get paid to do a sh*tty job all across American, just because they are getting paid means little to facts.(IE just because you get paid to do something doesn't mean you know how to do it or do it well)

And what is this track record you speak of? Is it one of consistency, or one of winning once everyone third or so year?

Seems to me "their" track record is pretty crappy.

I rather have "Denver" Orton than "Chicago" Orton. :D :D

How you know for sure Moore is pretty mobile? He haven't done more (no pun intended :P) enough to show that he is better than Jake. Beside, he look great during his rookie season when Jake was out for the season. But chance are he could be a one year wonder. Like Colbert, for example. I'm not going to call Moore a savior until he has shown enough that he is better than Jake, which he hasn't yet. Why else he look terrible in the preseason last year before he hurt his leg?

Nobody is worse in the pocket than Jake Delhomme. He's the rightful heir to the position from Steve Beurlein. So immobile it's ridiculous.

Almost anyone would be more mobile in the pocket than Jake. Of all the things there are to argue about, this one is pretty much settled.

The only reason I defend Delhomme, is because he's not the only problem, yet he gets all the blame. Coaches have been expaining to reporters and fans for years that QB's always get too much blame and too much credit, but like sheep, fans continue to blame the QB first even if the WR's are not getting open or are cutting off their routes on critical plays, which have both happened several times this year, but most fans just ignore that part of it.

Hell, Delhomme even got blamed for that Atlanta game, when he actually played well enough to win it. The defense, ST's, and RB's (fumbling) did not hold up their end of the bargain that day at all, yet every other thread on this board was about how Delhomme lost the game.
