This is a really racist thing to say. I've never caught a whiff of stupid from Steve Wilks before. I DO think there's a difference in that McVay and Peterson are offensive minds and that's where the league is in 2018: defense has never mattered less.

LOL Cam is 29 years old. Barring an anomoly, Cam can easily play 15+ years at a high level (He'd be 36 by that time). Asking "3-4 more years out of Cam" like its a stretch is doing a disservice to Cam.

I hope you are correct. There has never been a QB like Cam so there isn’t really any baseline. Given that Cam has stats like a RB and takes a lot of hits, he won’t play as long as a pocket passer unless he truly is Superman

I don't think it's fair to judge a guy 6 games into his career. Let him get through 2 years atleast, so he can get his team together. Sure some experience immediate success, but that is no the typical way these things go. Give him some time and see if it comes together.

He definitely talked the talk. I was impressed by his presence and accountability as a DC, though he definitely showed growing pains.

I think that he can develop into a fine HC, but I also think that he needed more time as a DC first.

Kinda like how the league is now just throwing rookie QBs out and grinding them out if they aren't the "saviour of the franchise" it appears that inexperienced HCs are also going thru similar issues.

 

tldr; Has the intangibles of making a great HC imo, but did not get the time he needed to develop as a DC. Was promoted way too early which could effect his own development as a coach in the long term.

Smart people have others who are still much smarter than them. You work in engineering you come to realize this quickly.

No one I work with is dumb but there are WAY smarter people than the baseline, which is really high.

Didn’t even think he were a good DC. Since losing Norman his secondary has statistically ranked as one of the worst year in and out during his Panther tenure. Being gifted the title of DC while having Luke, KK, Star, Addison etc guarantees any sack of meat on the sidelines a top 10 D.

Now Washington on the other hand..
