Who the hell thought Wilks would be a good HC?

So despite Cam and Luke having multiple coordinators and personnel around them majority of their careers and still having success we would be a dunpster fire if Rivera was gone? Nah i will take my chances.

Whenever someone says this, I always wonder who'd they like as a replacement?

Cam/Ron has always been a duo in my mind.  I'm not ready to be done with Cam yet so I am not ready to move on from Ron.

I don't see Cam having the longevity of a Brees/Brady based on how he plays the position either.   So I am content with Ron until Cam nears the end of his road.

Agree and if we can get 3 - 4 more years out of Cam in his prime, I'd be thrilled.  No way Cam makes it 15 years with the way he plays and I'm not willing to risk bringing in a new regime with Cam probably 75% done with his career.  Folks will argue that this is why we need to bring a new regime in now, but I'm not in this camp.

He is good at coach talk and sounding inspiring and smart but that doesn't always translate to producing a good team

Agreed. Fifteen years ago you had to be a pretty good DC/OC to even get a job as HC. Not anymore.

To be fair to Wilks, that dumpster was already on fire when he arrived. The team got old really fast in a division that went young quickly. That offensive line was terrible, historically bad, and morale was shot when he got there.

His job right now is to not destroy the young QB and hold on through a rebuild.

In other words, the same thing that is going on in Buffalo.

You have to remember that both of those teams have been horrible franchises throughout their history with just a few shining moments of near okayness. (Looking at you 4-time runner up Bills under Marv Levy and the flash in the pan Cards of Kurt Warner). It's like trying to build a house over and over again on the same swampy land.

Good luck to both of them, because those franchises are where new head coaches go to find themselves in early retirement.

At least he didn't follow the RR mentality of keep someone on the field, or coach's box until you've exhausted every excuse 50 times over again.

Cards are in a terrible position with Rosen behind that line, but it's hard to criticize his qb performance when he's under pressure as soon as the ball is snapped. Cam didn't fair so well when our offensive line couldn't block a 90 year old in power scooter either.

I'm interested to see what Leftwich is able to do moving forward.

McCoy is a terrible terrible OC. He has one of the most dynamic RBs in the game and does nothing but run him up the middle and not throw the ball to him.

It's no coincidence that Melvin Gordon's worst year as a player was McCoy's last year as a coach for the chargers. Dude has no idea how to run an offense and only got a head coaching job because Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning and made him look good by comparison.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
