Why has Cam been the worst QB in football on deep passes this year?

I think he is concentrating so much on timing short routes that not much practice has been done with the wrs in the long routes. If you havent done something in a while you have to knock the rust off.

Very legit speculation. I hope that’s the case—

the funchess end zone one handed catch throw was pretty dead on so maybe,..

or maybe it was short thrown and should have been in the back of the end zone,..

we dont know.

hopefully it’s rust and not the yips,..

the excuses will flow like menstruation in this thread.

But the truth is he has no more excuses. He has one of the greatest OC's in league history. He has several speedy WR's that can get open deep. He has a solid offensive line that hasn't let him get hit hardly at all.

But any measure, Norv Turner is one of the worst OCs in the league. Lucked his way into good situations throughout his career.

Still better than Shula.

Care to offer up a couple of those measures to back up your assertion? Or do you just wish to stand on that...statement? Because contrary to popular belief, there are some good things happening with out Offense. So go ahead and prove your post is accurate.

Norv Turner hasn't coached a top 15 offense since the 2011 Chargers.

There is a reason he was out of a job until the Rivera hired him.

His reputation as OC rests entirely on his years with the Cowboys and early years with the Chargers. The bulk of his career his offenses have been average at best.

I will wait and be justified in time. This forum will turn on him (as they do on all failures).

Not one thing you stated has any bearing on how things are going this year. You are supposed to learn from the past, not fear it.

Cam's QB rating, and Comp.% are way up. McC was leading the league in all purpose yards. We were leading the league in rushing yards. Yeah, your biases are showing.

Can't get better at something you don't practice. Teams know Cam deep ball was his best attribute and play to take it away. Always a single high or two deep and they drop deep too. It would be interesting if we become much more aggressive throwing vs the run we might see different results regarding this thread

At some point Samuel and Moore on the outside need to just run fly routes if its single and the safety is going to help one and let that thing go

1. All evidence is based on events that have already occurred. Like obviously.

2. Yes, I learned from the past that Norv is a bad OC. Especially if recent history is to be believed.

3. I don't care about Cam's completion percentage or QB rating. Those don't matter. The offense is underperforming because of coaching decisions.

4. What biases are you referring to?

I get it. You don't like Norv. Even though you have given no actual reason for that stance. With you offering no context to back your claims. I am resorted to believing it is bias that has turned you against Norv.

I have given you actual stats backing up my claim. And how do you respond? With an "I don't care".

Unless you can come up with some substantiated proof that Norv is...how did you put it?..."The worst OC in the league". I am done with this.

I hope you remember this conversation for when we fire Norv Turner. Hopefully, you will learn something from the experience.

I am always vindicated in time. And I am patient.

Look at the Chargers offense the season after Norv got fired, look at the Vikings offense the season after Norv resigned

Not that hard to see, Norv leaves the offense gets better
