I disagree with Smith... its not like they're not trying to get him the ball. He get a lot thrown his way. He need to blame Jake... he's the one who's throwing him the ball. Over thrown twice points to 1 person and 1 person only

This game will be about running and protecting the ball. If the o line can keep up the momentum from the Tampa game then Smith will definitely get some play action shots down the field.

I hate it for Smitty but it aint looking any better this week, especially with the run defense of the Bills. Plus as much as I have tried to keep an open mind about Jake and make excuse after excuse because I like the guy as a person, he couldnt hit the broad side of a barn if it was over 10 yards away.

No.

However, Smith brought up a legit point and getting the ball into his hands needs to be addressed his week. Some say we will only run b/c of the matchup.....I disagree. Carolina has struggled all year in the pass. Carolina can't afford to put it on the backburner this week....and assume it will just magically show up in the game they need to pass. They have to work on it each week. Smitty and the passing game was part of the gameplan last week..they failed at it. It will be part of the gameplan this week.

depends on whether we have another receiving threat to take pressure off Smith... If Davidson does anything, it should have to do with finding ways to get other receivers into the game (not just TE's and RB's, although TE's are always nice)...

Also, I may be the only one, but I do not really want to see a bunch of reverses and wildcats to Smith. 1) if we have to resort to that, it's not going to be successful long and 2) I don't see it being successful to start with... We've done this and it's failed... But the biggest point is if it does work a couple times, the success won't last long after the Bills adjust..

They are the type of plays you call every once in a while to catch the defense off guard. When it's expected, you aren't catching anyone off guard. You may set up the reverse by bringing Smitty around and hand instead hand it off to the RB.. but to sit here and expect 4 or 5 reverses to gain a shitload of yards isn't reasonable, IMO...

yeah, the Smitty reverse should only be pulled out once every 4 games or so. Unless they are gonna run the wildcat then they should just put the mildcat on the shelf.

He was frustrated b/c he did get open (despite the double teams)....Jake use to hit him now and he is struggling. Jake had two shots deep....normally Jake could have put at least one of the two on target for Smith to try to make a play. There was another play where Jake was late making the throw when Smitty was wideopen near the sidelines...since Jake was late seeing it he ended up throwing out of bounds as coverage finally got to Smith.

Jake isn't making plays w/ ANY WRs..that is just a sign of a stuggling QB. It is probably 40% playcalling and 60% Jake.

Okay there are plenty of safe ways to get Smitty the ball if you want to keep him happy. Like Slants, reverse, the smoke route, WR screen and even wildcat. I just don't like Smith running his mouth to reporters especially after a win. I understand he wants to be more involved but we ran the ball 48 times for 267 yards you have to take what the defense gives you and they obviously couldn't stop us from running. Where we almost lost the game was the KO return. Smitty demanding the ball is what gets Jake in trouble, 7 of his int this year he tried to force the ball to Smith and now people hate Jake. Finally we are throwing to the tight end and now Smith is unhappy, if he wants to be more involved go to the coaching staff and express it to them not the media.

so everyone knows that we are going to be trying to get the ball to smith a lot. how is that going to help matters?

stick two people on smith and have another just sitting back and waiting to see what jake does. keep throwing the ball to him...it won't help. it will just make matters worse. more INTs.
