How would you play our team?

Like most here, I've been pretty miffed about losing that game yesterday, but at the same time I'm not real sure why.  We know this team plays down to it's competition, and sometimes we get the bounce, and sometimes we don't.  Yesterday, we got no bounces.

The loss does have me thinking though, and although I don't have time to expand on it today, I wanted to throw it out there.

How would you play against the Panthers?  Offense, defense, ST, or all together.

You are the HC, what's your game plan to beat the Panthers?

Assign your fastest LB or Nickel to CMC at all times. He gets shadowed wherever he goes.

Once Greg is back to Greg, if that ever happens, bracket him.

Have your CBs on the alert for the out routes, since that is what Funch runs the most. Have them buy any cuts to the outside until you get burned.

Safeties are always in or close to the box, and spying Cam and providing run/short pass support.

On Offense, you simply pick apart the soft spots in the zones methodically, and then run right at the middle of our defense until they start stopping it again.

Special teams are a wash. Nobody cares about kickoffs, returns, or field goals anymore. Except, against the Panthers at least, just go ahead and count most of the FG attempts as makes and hope Gano misses an extra point in there somewhere.

On offense: quick passes to attack the 10 yard cushions afforded by our corners. Throw in the occasional play action to take the top off. Run off-tackle to capitalize on poor gap control by our DE’s.

On defense: blitz often and bracket McCaffrey. Make our WR’s beat you.

Our coaches don’t make any adjustments is a pure myth from haters.

We just magically came back from 0-17 to almost winning the game with 0 adjustments yesterday.

you could also see us adjust to the giants. You can sometimes scheme things and sometimes just try to avoid putting players out there. At the end of the Giants game you could tell that Rivera didn’t want to put the defense out there at all. Becuase he had no faith that we could stop them. Luckily they scored fast and Gano kicked the crap out of that ball.

Also sometimes adjustments don’t work, and that can be because the other team counters or you just don’t have the players. Which is many times the case.

Maybe it wasn’t adjustments and just a simple case of getting their collective heads out of their  backsides

So getting your head out of your butt isn’t an adjustment?

for reals tho people also need to admit that DJ Moore fumbling wasn’t a coaching decision either. From the reaction on here you would think it is.

The Panthers are supremely talented at many of the critical positions, let’s bet against their coaching staff gambling that their playmakers will win and they will play safe.  I’d go for it near mid field every time.   On offense I’d make sure Luke see that Luke had to overcompensate for his D Line not living up to their potential, and catch him gambling and hit chunk plays as a result.  On defense I’d see that Norv’s Attack is so robotic in its progressions that we just have to diagnose the number 1 and 2 reads and let them check down because it is as predictable as rain in London.  This in essence turns their best weapon, Cam, into a glorified game manager.  They haven’t shown they will swing for the deep ball as they did in ‘15 so until they do, I’d bend and don’t break.  Offense we will win with death by a thousand cuts and play keep away.
