Sure we lost but...

That was a damn fine game. Both teams rose to the challange of the other, the Giants just had momentum going for them in the end. But if you want some things to smile about, well here you go.

1. Deangelo Williams - 108 yds, 4.5 APC, and 4 TD's. Even with all the amazing running that New York did last night, they still only ran the ball for 3 TD's

2. Muhsin Muhammed - Talk about taking the spotlight off of someone, Muhsin had a better night than Steve freakin Smith last night. Sure there was that gift of a should-have-been-an-INT-that-turned-into a 60 yard reception, but dammint the man was there!

3. Jake Delhomme - You can bitch about him all you want (yeah, he screws up) but he was solid last night. 11/19, 185 yds, 0 Int. By contrast, it took Manning 17 completions out of 27 attempts to rack up four yards less than Jake's total. Sure, Eli had a touchdown, but he also got sacked three times.

4. Steve Smith - How the hell does this guy keep getting open when he does?

5. The entire defense - Anyone who wants to say that this defense is terrible needs to understand what the definition of terrible is. Terrible means carreer days for everyone on the opposite side of the ball. As it stood, the only guys who had a carreer night last night were Brandon Jacobs and Derrick Ward. Everything else the offense threw at em, our boys were keeping up. So if you sit here and complain about how a defense can't stop every play of every game from going somewhere, well, go f*ck yourself.

Just a few opinions.

Congrats to the Cats for making it through one hell of a fight last night. Rest up boys, you've earned it and you'll need it in New Orleans.

    • I think we've given the Bears enough already
    • T-Mac and DJ really would be a nice pairing that compliments each other well. However... I'm not interested, as much as I do still love DJ and would love to see him as a Panther again, but in a vacuum, not in reality. Trading for DJ means either XL or Coker get no development the rest of the year, and possibly even both, and really it would effectively end Horn's season too, as he'd be back to not getting a uniform on game days (and no, I can't see them trading DJ to get XL back, because again, they're a team with other holes too, no reason to trade a better WR to get a worse one back). If we were a true contender this year, then sure, bringing him in would make sense, but since we're not, we need to ensure those two develop this year by getting the targets they need to get better.  Not to mention we shouldn't be spending money on a WR contract right now anyways, not when we have so many on rookie deals and have so many other holes on the team that need quality players. If we're trading for any vets and bringing on contracts, it should be for a LB or DB, I wouldn't even want a pass rusher as I don't want to take snaps away from Scourton or Princely, as we need to develop our young promising talent, not bury them behind vets again.
    • Can we ever just enjoy having good players? Some of you always want to trade, and then you complain when those players ball out somewhere else like CMC, Burns etc.
