Rivera is a defensive coach so he should  take more control of the Defense and help him during this transition period or demote him back to coaching the DL.    This defense has too much talent to not be able to get off the field and be one of the worst in the NFL in the red zone.

I disagree on the talent part.  What they have is a bunch of aging vets with a few rookies sprinkled in.  The core of the defense is old or just not producing.  TD looked good because he's had 5 weeks of rest.  It won't be long before he starts showing his age again, possibly as soon as the next game.
