What? No belittling of Funchess today?

You and a host of others that I generally agree with on a lot of things have basically and consistently crapped on Funchess---in my opinion,  undeservedly so. The criticism is consistent, not constant, so I'm giving no one a cookie for not spewing criticism today. The undercurrent of criticism transcends a day. 

I didn't say he had an "amazing" day,  he had a good one. I didn't say that he was a great receiver,  just a good one whose skills and production will have to be replaced if he isn't extended. 

And for those saying that he is inconsistent, his stats pretty much since he took over after KB's departure say otherwise. I haven't looked it up,  but it feels like his consistency or lack thereof is in line with most receivers,  particularly those in running offenses and offenses where the ball is spread around.

He's dropped a lot of balls, and hasn't played to his size often. He did his job today.

I've been pretty critical of Funchess' in the past, but I was really encouraged by his performance last year. So far this season I'd been underwhelmed but I thought he had one of the beat performances of his career today. He didn't put up huge numbers, but he made several tough catches today. My biggest complaint of him in the past was that he didn't play up to his size. He absolutely did that today.

funchess would make for a helluva number two receiver on a team like the falcons or saints. Unfortunately, he’s going to get overpaid by a team like the ravens, jags or titans to be their number one and will be a complete disappointment for the rest of his career.

I don't think he's getting number one money from anyone. good number two guy most of the time

He certainly played a good game today. High end WR2 play, which is what he'll likely get a contract for next year. I'm just not sure if we should be the ones to pay it given the games that he disappears.

$10-12M per season is his floor if next year's WR free agency goes anything like last year's. Someone may give him more. Maybe significantly more.

I just don't know if it's a wise investment on our part to be the team that gives it to him.

I thought Funchess had a good game.  He’s good enough to do that every week. But he disappears at times.   

Where was Samuel today ?? Did he not wear a tie to something important or what ?
