Not sure what Atlanta has done this season to lead you to believe they are a good team...

They are much better than their 2-4 record.. they had 2 very close losses against 2 really good teams.. I hate the failcons but I am not writing them off as a easy win.

Their defense is horrible. By the time we face them they will be playing for a draft pick.

Ehh, even the Pats have one or more TERRIBLE games per year...

The Pats still manage to win a lot of their terrible games, definitely more consistently than we do.

Playing in a division full of punching bags helps a lot. That's definitely not an advantage we have, and one of many reasons why I can never minimize a loss.

Home field sure would have been nice last year. the

At least 3 fans in the stadium got to catch game balls on that last series, so theres a positive from this

you're one of the most worthless posters on this board, just an FYI. you don't really bring anything to the table here, so why do you have an account?

The other problem is that our offensive drives will look mediocre and struggle to move the ball, then all of a sudden we look like a completely different team. Perfect example was the last two drive of tonight's game, they moved the ball seamlessly, firing on all cylinders.

It frustrates me and I'm sure many others to no end, because we know the personnel, we know what this team is fully capable of but most the time they don't perform up to par.

You understand that this is because Ron "Run the ball (lol), play defense (lol), and win the time of possession battle" Rivera prioritizes ball possession over being dynamic and scoring, right?

Ergo, what you described above is the Ron Rivera GAME PLAN.

At least until said game plan yet again puts us in a hole and then Ron has to throw it out and pull out his SAVE ME CAM! game plan again (where we start moving the ball and scoring).

Honestly this wasn't the total dumpster fire that was the Bears game last year, not even close. People forget how brutal we were in that game, Cam threw a pick six and they returned a kick for a touchdown. Trubisky completed 4 passes I think and they still won.

Watching the short cuts, this was really a one play game in every manner of the word for us. Redskins got all the breaks, even that damn sack/fumble that they recovered and advanced. Didn't get the first down, but they likely would have punted instead of attempted a field goal, meaning we're only down 3 at the end.

Also our first drive of the second half, it was 3rd and 6, Cam throws that inside slant just a little long, that McCaffrey had to dive for it instead of catch it stride. That cost us a first down in the red zone and maybe a touchdown. (Edit: watching that play again, it's hard to say for sure that Christian had to dive for it, looks like he could have just run right through the ball).

The defense didn't really play as bad as I thought. We actually collapsed the pocket quite a bit and made Alex Smith's life hard. Adrian Peterson ran hard, give him credit, we had opportunities to bring him down for losses/short gains but he bullied our tacklers as he so often has throughout his career. Biggest problem was 3rd down, and Luke did look terrible in coverage on a few of those.

Overall, the only unit that was a dumpster fire was special teams. Besides even the turnover and missed extra point, there was so much hidden yardage they cost us on punts and kickoffs. Multiple penalties and bad decisions, although most of that was by young guys so it'll be learning experience.

The Panthers have never come back from an 11 point or more deficit in the 4th Q.

At what point did you assume that we would lose the game?  When we were down 14?  17?

Is there any part of this Ron Rivera coached team that leads you to believe that we can compete in a shootout?

Ron is far too set in his ways to compete in todays NFL, game in and game out.  Do you guys really think that we can stop the Saints or the Rams?  Of if we can't stop them, be able to score to keep up?

We are now entering the Packers fans arena.  A team talented enough to win, but being held back by a dinosaur of a head coach that does just enough to keep his job every year....but we don't have a trophy to look at longingly.
