What I am saying is I don’t think that he will get that opportunity. He had an above average season last year and didn’t get the offer he was looking for, he’s certainly not doing anything to help his case this year.

And as for the second question, I would assume because one player has that average over 700 attempts and the other player has that average over 100 attempts. It’s not CAP’s fault but for a backup position I’d suspect we’d be more interested in the more proven commodity.

Like I said, I suspect CAP to sign with a team who has a muddled backfield with the hopes of getting some carries.

BTW, I was wrong, I looked at the stat sheet incorrectly.  Plus, I was only looking at his average while with Carolina.

Anderson is averaging 5.3 ypc with Carolina which is definitely better than CAP's 4.0 career ypc with Carolina.

And CAP is *absolutely* getting away from Rivera as fast as he can after this year.  He may end up being the dud that everybody thinks he is once he leaves, but at least he'll finally get a damn chance.

CAP is not this elite runner that many here think.  He's an average to below average back up and will probably never be anything more.  Not that there is anything wrong with this and he'll likely have a 5-7 year career and make more money than most here on this site.

This is his 4th year correct? While the backfield is kinda loaded now, he had plenty of opportunities to emerge when it was just a hobbled Stewart, washed up Tolbert, and Fozzy Whittaker ahead of him on the depth chart. He could still barely get on the field, why do people think we're just purposely stashing elite playmakers on the bench? He's just never been better than the 4th best back on roster.

We need to trade CAP. He is one of the few players of value that we have that are tradeable right now.

CAP has no trade value, and even if he did it would be for a conditional 7th or something like that. At this point it's easier to keep the guy familiar with the system and on his rookie contract.

I disagree. He has good tape out there, and a team that needs RB depth could give more.

Backs with more and better/at least comparable tape such as Orleans Darkwa, Christine Michael, Thomas Rawls, Mike Gillislee, etc. remain unsigned. Perhaps CAP is better than them as he has at least stayed on a roster but he would also come at a higher cost with the same learning curve. CAP has no trade value.

My counter argument to this is that CAP has more tread on the tires than any of those guys. All the guys you listed pretty much have over 1,000 yards rushing in the league, and two of them were just recently released.

Teams can see our wealth of RB talent at 1st and 2nd string, and realize that we've been keeping CAP around for a reason.

He's in a contract year, is cheap, and could definitely help some team like Philly that needs depth out. Also, we've got coaches familiar with CAP in Buffalo and Arizona. Both those teams could actually use CAP on game days.
