First Game of Week VI : Eagles at Giants Thread

This should be a pretty good game IMO. Giants aren't out of the division race because all the other teams are doing so badly (Cowboys and Eagles already have 3 losses and the Redskins could easily have 3 if they lose to use on Sunday).  The media heads were advertising their game against us last Sunday as their make or break game. But looking at the division standings right now, if the Giants beat the Eagles tonight they would both be 2-4 and the Giants would hold the tie breaker with this win so they would be 3rd in the division.

So basically whoever loses this game will be the last place team in the division.

I think both teams will play desperate, should be a good one.

By the way the Redskins barely have a lead on the division at 2-2 (how screwy is that?) . They probably want the Giants to win to get the Eagles far down the pole as possible

If Redskins lose on Sunday and Cowboys win, along with Giants win tonight, that will mean the Cowboys will be in 1st place after week 6 at 3-3 . What a clusterfug of a division.

At least the Redskins should be the least desperate team out of them all and we play them on Sunday. But they will definitely be looking to bounce back from that embarrassment vs the Saints. The good thing is Cam traditionally toasts the Redskins for whatever reason.

I just made a change to my Week 6 predictions. The Giants are at home, the Eagles are coming off of a short week, the Giants have kept games close, Lane Johnson may not play, and a win by the Giants allows them to think that the playoffs are possible given the state of the NFC East all allowed me to rationalize and predict a Giants victory.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
