Trade for Jimmy Butler: Yes/No??

Remember we tried to trade for him back when Chicago had his rights:

Their negotiations didn’t get very far as “the Bulls had no interest in anything they had.” Even though the deal never materialized, it looks like Rich Cho tried to get another superstar to pair with Kemba Walker.

Potential Trades:

MKG + Lamb + 1st Rounder = Butler
OR
Marvin + Lamb + 1st Rounder = Butler

Chicago is in full rebuild mode and don't want any of our players - Twolves are still trying to make playoffs and might be intrigued with MKG's defense now that they R losing Butler. And Lamb is on a friendly contract for today's NBA and an expiring as well.

Jimmy would be a great player for this team. You can tell he just wants to win and he’s not getting the effort out of the young guys like KAT and Wiggins.

With that said, they’d want Monk or Bridges and probably a first.

Look what they gave up for him. I don’t see them sending Butler for anything short of Monk, Bacon, and top 10 protected draft pick.

No sir. For the first time maybe ever, I am really really liking our young draft picks.

This is how I feel as well.  Back to back years we got the first round pick I wanted and a second round guy I like.  I am not sure how to react to this, it is all so new.

We would have to give up Miles or Monk plus a number 1. That's too steep with no guarantees he would sign an extension with us.

yup, prolly..

But this is what drafting well gives you - options to make a trade for a legit AllStar player. We still dont know if Miles are Monk will have better careers than MKG.. we can flip their potential for proven help.. we prolly wont - but we absolutely need to keep it up with drafting well so we arent stocked full of the Zellers, MKGs, Biyombos and Kaminskys :fear:

It's not up to him where he goes.. Twolves hold the power..

If you don't think Jimmy Butts would immediately put us up in the top 4 in the East, you guys are crazy.. he has 2 years left on his contract, that is smaller than Batum's btw..

Next year is a player option on his contract, so yes, it is essentially a 1 year deal.  He can opt out, get more money as the cap increases, etc.

He'd be a one year rental in Charlotte
