Nice! I'm a year into my fitness campaign and I've gone from 165 to 200 pounds and moved my bench max from 170 to 260. It's been a steady progression but I just hit my first real setback, tore the meniscus in my left knee running down goddamn Machu Picchu a few weeks back. Momentum is everything to me and even a week of imobility is going to set me back a fugin month.

Ice up dex

That sucks, just be determined to come back after recovering.

I've been working out religiously since early 2011. I'd do 40-60 mins 5-7 days a week and work out on vacations. I love it! However the last 2 months I've been taking it easy, working out 4-6 times a week and many of those work outs are only 25-30 mins. I'm actually enjoying the break and plan on taking it easy for a while. I can tell a difference in my body already but I'm OK with it.

Does anyone think this is a bad idea? I'm worried my work out perspective is fuged up.

IMO there’s noting wrong with dialing it back a bit, I think as long as you are doing something it’s going to be beneficial. You need to listen to your body/mind rest and recovery is just as important as grinding it out daily.

Not just the equipment that's a bummer but the atmosphere... lifting is a primal thing. Sometimes daddy needs to grunt or be loud during that last rep. But not at PF. You can grab a slice of pizza on the way out tho smh.

I aint been to PF in years but i did love the hours...i just wish they would take their gym more seriously. A room full of smith machines, treadmills and tanning beds just aint going to get it.

Crossfit Bro checking in, roughly 3 years now behind me with a focus on functional fitness.  I initially lost 10-15 pounds from the uptick in activity but  stayed on that plateau for quite some time.  I finally educated myself on nutrition, macro-goals, and proper calorie deficits via some resources from bodybuilding.com around May of 2017.  Started consistently logging my food/macros daily and dropped from 215 to 175 lbs and 9-10% BF over a period of 5 months.

Honestly for people who want to lose weight/BF% the most efficient use of their time would be to become semi-educated on nutrition and focus on maintaining a macro-nutritional goal over a decent period of time that facilitates weight loss.  Don't get me wrong, working out is a great thing for the mind and body, but that alone will only get you so far. I've seen more people than I can count grind out hard workouts 4-5 days a week with almost no change in body composition over 1+ years, you can't out-train a crappy diet.  Then again it all depends on what your personal goals are...

Currently I've been on a lean bulking plan (small caloric surplus) for almost 10 months and have put on about 15-16 pounds of mostly muscle (6'3 at 192 lbs, 11-12 % BF currently)
