What do we do with Williams/Moton?

I think we can lock Williams up long term. Peppers, R. Kalil, and possibly TD and Mike Adams are all retiring at the end of the year. That will free up a ton of Cap space we can use on locking Williams up. Slide Moton to LT, designate M kalil as a June 1st cut and spread that travesty of a cap hit across two years, Let Funchess and Smith walk rolling with Samuel, Moore, Wright, and rookie 3rd round tall WR. Sign Cameron Brate to a reasonable contract if Greg retires, sign/draft DE early, Re-sign Eric Reid to a longer term deal if he isn't hot garbage (won't be much Safeties don't make much these days), Slide Gaulden into Vacant Safety slot (or draft someone better because I have no faith in him).

Baby, you've got a stew going.

If we pay Williams big money we have to go ahead and plan to lose Moton since I doubt we pay both tackles 15 million each a season. It'll be like us signing Turner meaning we couldn't keep Norwell all over again.

We got Moton cheap for another 2 seasons after this one.

A few other things to consider.

Peoppers $5M and Kalil’s 10M cap hit are the only big hits coming off the books next year. If Olsen retires I believe we are still on the hook for his $7.5M dead cap hit (someone will have to check me on that).

You also have to figure out how to replace roster players like Peppers, Kalil, Davis, Adams, Horton, Reid, Funchess, etc. while also remembering that Bradberry, Thompson, and Addison are free agents the following year.

This team looks like it is going to get a lot younger, and fast.

Moton's first year on a new contract (2021) would be Turner's last year of his current contract.  Often the first year of a new contract is pretty low.  Also they could release Turner that year and free up a lot of cap space.

If we go cheap at Guard, Center, Guard we can afford two expensive tackles.  Depending on how expensive, they might decide to pay one more lineman substantial money.

At a certain point though there is just so much cap space you want to contribute to position group.
