3rd Q. Cam last second decides not to throw a wide open TD.

The fugged up part is Cam was like 7 of 9 passing in the first half and looked sharp. Then went 14 of 26 with two interceptions in the second half with lots of missed opportunities. As he said himself, it was a sub-par performance. Good teams pull out wins even when they are far from their best. Good win, on to Washington.

It used to be "as Cam goes the Panthers go". Not true. We actually have playmakers who you can hand the ball off to or throw a short pass to. Cam can have a bad day and the TEAM finally has his back. We should be excited about what we saw Sunday including Gano's foot.

hahaha. Didn't expect that you would carry this into today.

Grow up man, and talk football. Your blind eye to recognizing Cam didn't play his best football Sunday is nothing I would expect from you.

I am not shitting on Cam, I am pointing out he had a bad day. Take it personal, if you want.

The thing is... most people on this board openly admit they ONLY watch Panthers games, that’s it.

I think many here (the ones with an IQ over 70) would be amazed to see how often even the best QB’s mis a read or an open guy.

It’s so easy to look at a play after the fact and go “He missed him”. QB’s kick themselves come Monday morning for it as well. These guys are asked to make split second decisions constantly that mistakes are going to happen. I just feel like Cam’s mistakes get blown way out of proportion more than any other QB.

Like I said above, should he have made that throw? Of course. However, the crossing play with Thomas and Moore, I get why he went with Thomas given the circumstances in that exact moment with Collins coming at him.

In the 2nd half, the G Men were crowding the LOS and taking away the run and the short passes. Cam had to look further downfield and I think it took him out of his comfort zone some. He had some nice long completions, but I don't think he likes going deep as much as he used to. If we can burn teams with the deep pass a few times a game, it will allow us to have that balance we need.

Not sure sure how you spun this around. This has nothing to do with check downs, the man was streaking wide open and he was staring him down.

Yup ...

There were at least 4 or 5 passes that were telegraphed that could have easily went the distance. Hope we clean those up soon. With the way our defense is playing, we gotta start putting up some serious points

The good news is we're getting down field separation...finally.

It's possible Cam wanted to run and thought the middle was going to clear out.

This season there's only few good defenses and our offense will start clicking soon, it's our defense that needs to improve or its going to be a shoot out every week which would be a challenge for us.

Funny. there aren't as many posts about Luke  ( or the defense in general) not playing well...

You should get professional help with your insecurities.

Plenty of threads about Luke and the D on Sunday, if not more, than Cam's bad day.

I think where our interaction went wrong was somehow you came away with the impression that I was shitting on Cam, when I was only pointing out that he had a bad day. I have constantly said it was a bad game for Cam. Not "Cam sucks."

Also, I watch every game there is to be watch, mostly because I love football- and partly because of my recreational participation. You think I was rough on Cam? You should of seen my comments on Rivers last on the Chargers board or even my comments on Deshaun Watson the other night on the Texans reddit.

The whole point of our internet message boards and forums is for us to say this stuff. Not to be a Monday Morning QB - but to point out that a player of their caliber could of done better, and are expected to do better.

This 1 of about 4 throws I had to rub my eyes and make sure I was watching Cam playing quarterback.

He was definitely off.

  • He missed a wide open CMC a couple drives after Giants scored. Instead threw INC to T. Smith in double coverage.
  • He threw a back shoulder throw on a go route to Samuel after he destroyed his man off the LOS, over the top and that is a walk-in TD
  • As I mentioned before: 2nd INT had an easy YAC play for Moore, but instead threw an errant pass to IT
  • Threw behind Funch on a 3rd and long when he had his man beat could of easily been a 20 yard gain.

Just wasn't his day. He is our QB and a great QB. Sometimes you just have a bad day. Hopefully we leave that in week 5.

Not even a bad day, a bad HALF.  He was something like 8/9 for 100 yards in the first half.  Second half is where the wheels fell off for Cam.  I thought he maybe hurt his hand at some point.  Look like he may have hit a helmet on a follow thru or something.  The camera cut away quickly and nobody said anything though...
