But they already know what’s coming off of next year for Kalil. 4.9M That’s it. Not ideal. But not crippling. There’s a reason he’s not playing and it isn’t his “knee soreness”. He’s done. Barring an injury or two at OT. Whether it be Norman or anyone, there no If to it. Throw 5M out the window and work with it.  There is no scenario where his cap hit next year is more than that unless we are dumb enough to put him on the field and he gets injured. Then we are screwed.

Yes but that’s not thinking long term or looking at the big picture because his hit jumps to $9.8M the following year.

So if we traded for Norman we’d have $22M tied up in a player we paid to go away and an overpaid player.

Both of their cap hits would be in the top 7 on the Panthers roster for 2020 while we would also be trying to resign Addison, Bradberry, and Thompson. We’d have to sacrifice one if not two of those guys if we traded for Norman.

My entire point is that there is not a scenario where Norman ends up on this roster unless he is cut and signs a team friendly deal ($5M or so).

Michael Thomas had him in his feelings from the first snap.

What I find spectacular about Norman is that he talks as much poo as anyone on the field but as soon as a guy plays that game with him and embraces it, he's upset. Dudes soft.

agree. your team is still full of bitches though :)

Oh no...I don’t want Norman at that price either over two years. Was speaking of next year. Total agreement that 2020 will suck.

I'm really glad we signed Matt Kalil and drafted 3 dbs back to back to back in the 2016 draft instead of signing Josh. Good call Gettlemen! Gettlemagic!!!! Kallil, Daryl Worely and Zanchez are killing it!

Hey, you left out the best part of Gettlemagic's 2016 draft, the 1st round selection of Vernon Butler, the most disruptive force at DT in the NFL:eyeroll:

JNo has comments about facing us on 247Sports:

"They're still my buddies," said Norman. "I talked to (Kawann Short) just a couple days ago. ... Their defense is still menacing and ferocious as ever. Their offense is still led by Superman (Cam Newton) back there and what he's able to do. Yeah, it's always gonna be something to where you see it, and you look at things, and you're like 'Okay, let's see where we match up each and every time we go against our old team and my old ball coach.

"I'm excited. I really am. ... I'm ready for this one."

Norman also addressed the Panthers' defensive backs re-adopting the "Thieves Avenue" moniker, which Norman helped spearhead in 2015.

"Hey, Colin Jones is still there. And once a thief, always a thief," said Norman. "If it works for them, so be it. Like I said, once a thief always a thief in my book. If it helps them and they work well with it, so be it. ... If they carry that in a way which makes them bad you-know-whats, then so be it. Yeah, absolutely. Go for it, why not?"

As far as the Panthers receiver that Norman wants to face most: "Whoever comes to the left. That's just where we'll be," said Norman.

Overall, Norman is looking forward to getting back on track and trying to continue "chopping that wood" atop the NFC East, and doing it against his old friends and teammates.

"We're gonna have a good time. We really are, seeing those guys again and going up against them and playing them. It's gonna be an exciting time."
