PFF Panther grades

I love how in this thread we have a guy saying Luke's 65.1 is worrying and Cam's 66.1 means he didn't have a bad game. You guys know both of those statements can't be true right?

Football is the ultimate team sport. If Cam’s grade is in line with the rest of the team, then relative to everyone around him he didn’t play poorly, he played in line with his supporting cast.

Peppers had a quiet day but made plays that kind of went unnoticed. Played the run extremely well and was close to sacking Eli at least twice.

Luke with a grade in the 60’s worries me

Our line would have had multiple sacks if not for holding. With that said both sides were allowed to do this so not really unfair except for the defense.

Cam won't get high grades until we start attacking down field more. PFF doesn't actually grade interceptions that badly if they are >20 yards down the field, you get rewarded for even threatening a defense deep. Cam consistently makes tough intermediate throws into tight windows, especially in the red zone, that along with his running keeps his grades above average. Now I'm not saying we should give a fug about PFF, but look around the league, if we don't start generating at least 2-3 explosive plays out of the passing game that lead to scores, we just won't be able to keep up with these other offenses.

Two very nice stats:

"Peppers’ accounted for five total pressures and three defensive stops, and his 90.4 run defense grade is best among edge defenders for the week."

Moton didn’t allow a pressure on 41 pass block snaps, and overall this season, the standout tackle has allowed only three pressures in 156 pass block snaps.

From here, where there is also cool info on Cam's success in play action vs. non play action:

This makes me wonder what happens when Williams comes back. Do we really sit Moton down?

Yea 2 catches 37 yards 1 TD. They don't grade it on how cool it looked or what mode(beast or otherwise) he was in.

Rivera has to play Moore and Samuel period.

It was an 82.5 rating, which would be very good. Probably just didn't get enough plays in to qualify for their list.
