So What Is It Going to Take to Get Torrey Smith Off the Field?

Samuel just had a heart operation, they are brining him in slowly and Moore is a rookie still learning.  Everybody in panic mode for no reason.

Ok, fine.  Honestly, would it not be better to have Wright over Smith?  The dude catches everything thrown his way and moves the chains.  Pretty much ANYONE besides Torrey Smith.  The dude is taking bad to epic levels.

If he was Ted Ginn . . . ok, fine, I can live with it . . . but he's FAR from Ted Ginn.

Smith is a old vet

Theres no excuse for him to be out there

In an ideal world, Smith gets a helmet and jersey and is our WR5 that comes in for a handful of plays and maybe gets a catch....minimal expectation.

There's no reason why we shouldn't have Funchess-Wright-Samuel-Moore as our starting 4 getting the boatload of snaps. That gives you height, possession, speed, veterans, youth and route running. Stretch the field, open up underneath, and move the chains. Once Greg comes back it gets even nastier. And oh yeah.... CMC to destroy you at will.

Torrey should be utilized for what he is at this point.... a veteran that can help mold and mentor the younger guys in practice and on the sidelines, while providing insurance if someone is injured or having a rough game. That's it.

He needs to be cut this offseason so that his $4.5M can be put towards landing a prime free agent DE.

I feel bad as a human being, but I secretly rejoiced after seeing Smith limp off the field after a block as I knew it would force Ron to play #12 more.

A bum ankle never killed anyone.

Funchess going out with a hammy was the best thing that happen on that last drive

He made a career off of being a deep threat. He no longer has the speed to take the top off of the defense these days. If we want to keep him on the roster for his veteran presence in the locker room, fine. But he shouldn't be taking any snaps away from Samuel, Funchess, Moore, or Wright. They're simply better WRs.
