The defensive line had a bad second half yesterday, as did the offensive line. I have to assume the bye week and conditioning had something to do with that. The Giants were desperate for a win and clearly fired up, while we were running on fumes in the trenches by the 4th quarter. Luke is only as good as the men in front of him, he'd be the first to tell you this. Also, Barkley is an absurdly good player, if you don't slow him down before he reaches the line of scrimmage, you're cooked.

As to the missed holds, again, you have to earn those calls. Have to keep playing through the foul and force the ref to make a call, we weren't doing that yesterday.

I originally theorized it after the New Orleans games last year (each of them), especially the playoff game, and then again this season after the Falcons game, that I fear the concussions affected him more than we thought.  I was recently called an idiot for presenting this idea on the forum, but I think it's a fair question to be raised at the very least.  I stated that I felt his play has definitely taken a step back since the last concussion he suffered (which was after getting pancaked in Philly, IIRC).  After that point, it just seems like he has taken a lot more bad angles than he ever did before, he is out of position in coverage more, and in general just seems slightly less than what he was before.  Idk if it's actually an issue stemming from the injuries, or if it's him playing more cautiously as a result of them (I have also wondered if the shoulder injury played a role in some of it last season).  I love Luke, and honestly, Luke at 85% of what he was is still better than pretty much every other MLB in the game, but i do wonder what has caused the drop off in play...  i also suspect that Washington sucks as a DC and the line sucking ass the first quarter of the season hasn't helped...  but that still doesn't explain the lapses in positioning and coverage on defense that has happened much more often the last two years.

None of our linebackers have been effective.  This, to me, screams scheme is the issue, not play.  Eric Washington is laying an egg week after week.  I'm used to whining about the offense... but our defense is the worst I've ever seen in the Ron Rivera era.

I agree Washington looks suspect so far, but tbh, I thought Luke had some really out of character games last season as well under Wilks.  I could be wrong, but I also think Washington is compounding issues.

Man this fugin defensive line fooled the fug out of me during the first week. I thought they were elite during the dallas game.

They are not getting pressure as a unit....vs the WORST OLINE in football makes it 10 times worst.

Folks are really over reacting. Again, what defense or linebacker corps across the entire league has looked good? Records are getting broken all over the place. Hell, we're averaging near 30 points a game despite missing starters on offense and generally kneecapping ourselves with conservative play calling. It's Week 5 folks and offenses are ruling right now as defenses adjust to all the rule changes and figuring out how to stop all these track team offenses. Let's wait a bit before writing Luke's obituary or declaring Washington trash.

LOOOOOOOOOL. This is fuging pathetic. Buncha red hats running around blaming Cam for everything from celebrations, to questioning his arm strength and his intelligence. You name it. When people try to ascertain the whys and what fors, the nuthugger term gets thrown about. That's before the racism ensues. 

Simply question if Luke's lost a step or isnt as effective and booooyyy the defenders come flying out of the woodwork. Too many of these types feel comfortable with being openly ridiculous (trying to be civil here). Bitching about politics, but inject racial politics into everything. Even in being "fans" of the team. Silly and petulant af.
