Yep.

Once you factor in the fact the Giants possibly have the worst OL in the league, it’s even worse

There’s a lot of dudes on that line making too much money not to be getting more in return from them

We also thought we would have a terrible o-line, goes to show you it’s “any given Sunday.” We played a team with nothing to lose and came out with a W. Relax.

Not the same thing.

This is a known terrible OL and we made them look decent enough. Our front 4 has struggled to get pressure all year. It’s a legit concern considering we built this D to get to the QB knowing our secondary is weak.

Fwiw I was at the game and their were massive holds not being called against the giants OL.  I can think of one in particular where pepp went to spin and spun the OL with him because dude had so much jersey

Yeah it was glaringly apparent on TV as well. I'm sure we got away with a few too but at one point they were grabbing jerseys left and right.

Our outside LB can’t tackle or cover so why not blitz them some?

hopefully TD will help when he comes back

Luke can obviously

Agree that Shaq has really struggled in coverage.  But the dude is solid when coming downhill, as you saw a few tfl and a sack vs Dallas from him when he came up and rushed

I'll be shocked if our 1st round pick jext April isn't a DE. We've pretty much painted ourself into the corner where we have to get a little desperate about addressing the future of our DE corps. Peppers will retire, Mario will be 32, and Horton will be knocking on the door of 30 himself.

Which is a blessing from all the gods that were ever conjured up by the human imagination that the OL is actually playing well because if we still needed T's and backups at every position AND also DEs then we'd be super fuged.

Right now it's pretty simple. Best DE available in round 1 unless someone falls or some crazy unforseen thing happens.

It definitely is scary on the surface...  but i've been thinking about it, and i'm starting to think it may be a similar situation to the WR issue, moreso than a lack of talent or ability.  Obada makes plays and consistently gets pressure when he's in the game, but just like DJ and Curtis at WR, he seems to be lacking the opportunities to get on the field.  I'd like to see the snap counts from today, because I didn't see him out there often, but when I did, he made himself known.  Even Ron's public comments about him seem to undermine what he's done and justifies Ron's decision to play him behind others with the whole, "got to make sure he's not a one-hit wonder" line.

I have a feeling, or at least it's my hope, that more Obada and TD coming back is going to help a lot...  I also hope it's more Pep getting conditioned back into game shape after missing most of camp more than it is age, as to his slow start.

Addison has not really made an impact so far this year and Horton was never a great pass rusher. So having to rely on Efe with very little experience and an aging Pep doesn't leave many options.

Agreed.  No doubt Rio and Horton have looked mighty pedestrian this year.  I'm just hoping they pick it up, because no one is going to come in and save us at this point.

I don't even think Poe and Short are playing bad since they've done a good job against really good RBs. What we need is The Edge to get pressure and it just isn't

Pep is a first ballot hall of famer but he overachieved last year and made us think it was okay to not make any moves at defensive end. Not sure how we could have expected him to come back and give us 11 sacks again

The big factor was that last year he was usually a late down specialist and played around 40% of the snaps, so he was pretty fresh. I feel like this year they are putting too much on his 38 year old legs so he's not fresh enough to get the edge like he was last year. Need to bring Haynes in for 3rd downs.
